He never owned a pinball machine and never worked on one. He was using crowd funding to open the museum, not his own money. He went around talking about how there was no pinball scene in Atlanta or any public locations to play (there are two). He then discovered our local collector community and was asked by a member several simple questions about his knowledge of pinball.
In a private email Tim attacked this person, a well known member and liked by everyone. He then started messaging Facebook friends of one of the local arcade owners, asking for donations. Tim only raised a few dollars for his museum and he quietly went away.
This was a case where a person that never owned a pinball machine thought it would be “cool” to open an arcade, and then expected others to pay his bills to fund his idea.
