Quoted from vid1900:Of course.
If something is going to suck (for gaming or audiophile) it's going to be bluetooth.
Just like headphones, plug it in with a wire for best performance!
No doubt. Bluetooth can't even send a consistent signal from my phone to a cheap Bose speaker 6' away when I'm exercising or showering, forget higher demand stuff like gaming or hi-fi. Like you said, these At Games Legends are good controllers via USB.
Quoted from xsvtoys:This, I have not seen before (The Microcenter Atari one). That is pretty nifty looking. Its almost exactly what I have been thinking about putting together for playing classic arcade games.
Is the joystick is 4-way, or 8-way?
To me, here are the questions that determine if something like this is a go, or no-go:
Can it play Pac-man properly with the joystick?
Can it play Centipede/Millipede properly with the trackball?
If it can't do those 2, its no good for me. I'm not into the fighters so I don't know much about those.
There is a whole thing with spinners, related to what game you want to play and whether they are slow ones, fast one, weighted ones, etc. If it can play Tron that's good enough for me. Might not be good enough for something like Tempest if that's your thing.
I haven't opened it up yet but I just clicked it around since it's on the desk next to me: 8-way. I assume you can replace the restrictor plate underneath to go to 4-way. Obviously a 4-way stick or plate is best for games like Pac-Man, Donkey Kong and the like, but from what I remember it's decent at 4-way games as-is since the throw action seems a little shorter than average. The trackball and spinner are both good. Played some Centipede and Tempest and both worked well. If you want me to open it up I can do that later, but just picked up a NIB Rush LE that's going to take my attention for now.
