I am wondering if it is the original CPU board installed in your game. It seems to be an "universal one" with all the transistors for the coils installed. There is a major difference in CPU boards for Atarians, Time 2000, airborne avenger with boards used in Middle Earth and Space Riders. The last 2 didn't use the /NMI signal anymore and just had a pull up resistor connected to this line. As a result, for example a board from Airborne Avenger will not run in Space Riders and vice versa without modifications. It is one of the things to be aware of when swapping Atari Gen 1 boards. And I would always replace the Lego(r) style IC sockets on these boards.
