Hey what did you use (or going to use) for cab paint stencils? I have an Astro to do as well.

Looking really good. One touchup technique I use is to take a qtip, dip it in a pool of spray paint and then use it as a minor paint roller (twirling in the fingers as you apply). You can touch up the black and remove that line at the bottom back edge.
Quoted from Vandy89:So, I turned it on and it resets. Ball ejects like it’s going to start a game, but the score motor continually runs.
Any ideas as to the cause?
usually the zero contacts on the reels. Alligator jumper to simulate the daisy-chained circuit.
Quoted from Vandy89:Trying to get things figured out. I took the mechs back out of the cabinet so I could actually see the switches. I have been reading the various EM repair guides, but I’m still not clear on a couple of things.
Couple of questions:
1) What is the rest position of the score motor?
2) In regards to the score reel switches. I’ve found the positions listed in the guides but is Astro a first generation or second game?
Thanks
score motor has three at rest positions, 120 degrees apart. if its not at rest it will move to rest at first power up...
dont know the def of the generations but bottom contact closed only at zero, middle contact open at zero and is the drive contact untill it reaches zero. and top contact, 9s rollover, closed at ... nine
Quoted from Nevus:Beautiful game. I’m looking forward to having an Astro in my collection.
Soon... very soon. We meeting at the same gas station?
Quoted from Gott72:I'm almost done replacing the stand up targets in my Astro. Got the plastics and posts and rubbers and LEDs all in. POP bumpers are out, and need new installation with new lamp holders .... but my poor playfield...
This ASTRO I took on works 100%, though, but I am in question of the chimes--I only get chimes on the slingshots.
usually dirty contacts on the scoring relays.... with the game in play mode go exercise the scoring relays by hand. (I do this with every new game I get to work on) sometimes if you press a little harder you'll get a chime, indicating dirty contact. If you have sch you can find lead color and then know what contact to clean on the relay
