There is video of Gene's collection/hoard of Bally machines and the BBB production in the "Life After Death III - WAREHOUSE RAID" 2008 DVD from Rob Craig and Steve Rothschild. Rob and Steve started the Silverball Podcast back in 2007 when there was only Clay doing the TOPCast episodes. The DVD is a great watch and I sold my copy years ago but just recently bought another and eagerly await its arrival.

Checkout the podcast episodes here http://www.silverballpodcast.com/

I first saw Gene at an Expo seminar in '98 or '99 and he always had a half to full page ad in Gameroom Magazine as a collector trying to get one of every Bally pin title.

I had no personal interaction with Gene but I heard from several individuals that his tactics at game auctions was to buy anything Bally, even when he had multiple copies of a certain title and outbid anyone that truly wanted that game, out of spite and just because he could.

A true hoarder to most.

Quoted from Whysnow:

Good question. Where did it all start for gene and pinball? Why pinball?
I know the guy was a hustler and always making deals in life, but how did he settle on pinball.

Get the skinny here.....

Quoted from Mr68:

But that story makes zero sense to me for a variety of reasons and it seems unlikely a large corporation would be motivated by such pettiness.

WMS Gaming is/was a publicly traded company and Neil Nicastro would have had his head served on a silver platter by the stockholders if a new owner made a go of the pinball division after the realization that more profit could be made by keeping the division intact instead of decapitating the operation and splitting it up so that it could never be put back together.

Quoted from Ballypinball:

he went broke twice
once selling all the ipb inventory and then personally
how do you go from a millionaire to being broke?
Make pinballs

How do you make a million dollars building pinball machines?

Start with two million.

Duh. # 001 was supposedly Gene's personal machine. Why would only 30 plays seem unusual?

Quoted from vdojaq:

Because she is dead we cannot talk about it? These people went on the Donahue show to exploit their "lifestyle". Are we to pretend it never happened?

Don't let my decency stop you. It was their private lives that he chose to share. Now they are both dead.

Give Kim a call and ask her for dad's cuckold tapes with mom and report back.

Quoted from Mr68:

It was an open secret and everyone in the family knew. Kim was one of the first to mention it to me and she was very casual about it.

Great! Load it up to xhamster!
