So I'm bringing Captain Hook back to life. The MPU had a corroded socket and EPROM that I had to replace and that got it to boot.
Now it has a few switches that aren't working. I'm looking into the issue, but for now here's a video of the problem.

Quoted from Daditude:It looks great!
Yeah it really is in pretty nice shape. Some peel on the backglass, but compared to the Agents 777 I have this is much nicer.
Ok, I removed the Red-Violet pair from the lamp socket and reattached them to the drop target switch.
But now, where's the wire for the lamp socket? Again, I don't see anything loose and hanging around, so where is it?
The schematics show a Brown-Violet wire on the #1 lamp socket.

Removed the Brown-Violet wire and resoldered it to the #1 drop lamp socket.
Now the switch and the lamps work properly. This also fixed the "B" lane switch and the "N" drop target switch.
This video shows the results. Also, note the background sound is working after the fix, it didn't work before.
Quoted from Foo:SOT... Your thread title reminded me of this...

Quoted from Quench:Did it look like factory soldering on all these wiring errors?
The #3 drop switch looked like a break or cut. The others looked clean, but I don't know if they were that way from the factory.
I just find it hard to believe they could've let the game go out the door like that. Neither bank of drop targets worked so it wouldn't be any fun.
And another video where you will hear the best extra ball sound in all of early solid state pinball (2:10 mark).
Thanks for the videos! Got to play this at a show one time, but couldnt hear it. I was missing out, great sounds! Now if someone could just do a video of an agents 777...
Quoted from cottonm4:Only 450 of these were made. 9 Pinsiders own one. Any ideas on how many are still living?
I just saw this thread thanks to the bump.. but mine is living and happy next to my JJPOTC
My Agents 777 is currently being stored (I swap out games every now and then).

Wow, ask an ye shall receive, Thanks! How would you compare it with the other later gameplan games. Attilla, Hook, Cyclopes, Andromeda, etc.. You seem to have a lot of them!

Might be a better question for @pinballj. Did you see his collection??? Wow!
Anyway, for me it would be:
1) Cyclopes
2) Captain Hook
3) Andromeda
4) Attila the Hun
5) Sharpshooter
6) Coney Island
7) Agents 777
I'm kinda hard on A777 because of the scoring imbalance, and the fact that mine is in dire need of tuning. Lizard should be in there somewhere too, but I haven't played one since the 80's so I don't remember much about it.
Played Captain Hook at the VFW show a few weeks ago.
Surprised how good it is for being very simple.
You're right, Cyclopes is awesome.
Nice work here! The apparent factory fubars are so odd that you wonder how they were never fixed.
Hey dothedoo is there any chance you could post some pictures of how the wiring is set up on both drop target banks and of the stand up targets on the left side of the play field and a shot of the wiring on the right flipper button and of the lower right flipper as well. I have recently picked up a captain hook pin, but it seems to have some wiring issues and I need to verify some things. Thanks
