Fair warning, I am really not very familiar with EM logic. I have tried to look at the ipdb schematic, other pictures of the same credit unit relay and it seems that the switch are properly closed or open so I assume the issue may be somewhere else?

When I press the start button, with credit on the credit unit, the Credit Unit reset coil actuate but stay on and does not reset/turn off. I have to switch the power off for it to release.

Mechanically the unit works fine when i press on the coil by hands so the issue seems to be because the coil ground does not disengage and it stays on (W-BLU wire?).

Three switches to check. A make/break on the reset relay, the actual switch on the start button (not likely) and a normally open switch on the game over relay.

    Thank you for helping out!

The Game over relay isn't labelled but I assume that i the one in the picture. Which color wire are the switches to check? At a first look they seem to all work as expected?

The manual lists the "Reset Cycle" in detail. How far is the game getting?

I'll have to go look at the schematic again for the wire color.

Never assume a switch on an EM is ok because it looks ok. That's the bane of EMs.

I will compare with the reset cycle in the manual tomorrow, from memory I cannot hear anything else move except the credit unit getting stuck on

Take a look at the contacts on the scoremotor.
First set seen from the motor, first contact on the contact set is for the reset coil.
Also check the contacts on top of the credit unit, it should close to hold the coil in for just a bit longer.

Do you mean this switch stack at the top of the credit unit?

It looks like the credit unit subtract coil has a hold in circuit thru score motor cam 5. So the subtract coil will stay energized until the score motor cam releases it.

    Yes, that one.
In combination with the substract contact on the scoremotor.

So the score motor did not turn when i pressed the start button

but when pressing on the stack it would so i ruled that out.

I moved up the chain to the Coin relay (following manual sequence of operation) and after pressing the start button with the credit unit stuck on manually closing the Coin relay would make go through the whole sequence and start

I traced the CR coil ground wire to the CU top stack, i thought maybe a broken wire/connector but the continuity seem to work fine... With the stack manually closed, there was continuity between the incoming W-B wire that actuate the CU coil to the CR coil G-W ground wire.
Something must be loose on the connector or SW stack since now the game cycle correctly...?

    Does that speak to anyone?

The coin relay is pulsed by the credit unit reset coil end of stroke switch ( the top switch with the 3 blades) if the arm isn’t pushing up on the switch far enough the top blade won’t close. The top blade is the part of the switch that pulses the coin relay. Clean switch and adjust blades.
