“Are You Buying POTC”

  • Heck yeah, already have it pre-ordered! The playfield, artwork, and gameplay look amazing. Who cares if there is no original score, video clips showing actor faces or actor callouts? 73 votes

  • Probably. I have not put down a refundable pre-order yet. I am waiting to see what the final game looks like. Limited license rights is somewhat concerning, but it is not a deal killer. 38 votes

  • Probably not. Limited license rights and incorporation of licensed material has me greatly concerned. But I am still holding out hope that JJP incorporates more into the game in the final product. 30 votes

  • There is no way I am paying $9.5K for a pin themed on a 5-movie franchise with no original score, video clips showing actor faces or actor callouts other than Mr. Gibbs. 120 votes

Poll doesn't include "I'm already studying what I can so I'm ready for tech support".

Game had a good showing at Expo. Games will sell. I'll be ready.

Quoted from Coz:

too bad the average joe can’t afford them.

The average Joe can't afford a lot of stuff. Mansion, limousine, trophy wife, exotic vacations.

But he can figure a way. Even starting with very little. Buy a pinball machine. Clean it up, fix it up, sell for more. Keep doing this, one at a time, two at a time, etc. etc. Plough all the money back into this until you get the pinball machine you want.

Sittin on your butt lamenting about what you can't afford doesn't get you anything. Get off your a** and get out there and make it happen.

Late 1970's to early 1980's I built an impressive brass model railroad collection by painting them for others. Just the money from my labor/painting them did it.

Quoted from Deadlander:

I don’t know why Jack would let the public play such a poorly playing game.

Wasn't the plan. Games performed good at Expo, which is close to the JJP Chicago office if people or parts would be needed. The game at FPF acted up, with limited personnel and tools and parts available. And JJP six states away. Crap happened.

Jack would have preferred a better showing, that's for sure. There are times things go good. And there are times things go bad, no matter how much you plan and what you do.

Every time I went to their web site the LE version called my name. Saw some game play on YouTube and it just looks too compelling. Sunday I put my $250 deposit down.

You'll be glad you did. And that topper is to die for.

Quoted from konghusker:

I really wish an updated code would hit so we can see how the game is looking.

In a recent video on Facebook of Eric Meunier at JJP in NJ. They passed 15 games getting built up to go out on test. So I suspect we'll be seeing a lot more soon.

Everybody is working hard on Pirates.

Quoted from nikpinball:

Where have you seen the LE's topper? I wanna see what I'm getting!

Prototype was on the CE at Expo. Only available on the CE. Huge bottle, with the Black Pearl ship in it, waves moved back and forth, ship moved too.

This was a prototype, I suspect they'll gussy it up some.

Hoping for more information from JJP soon.

A recent video on Facebook had Eric in NJ,they walked by test games being assembled. No idea time frame. But we should have a lot more information soon as those games are finished up and go out.

excluding the Lack of matching coin door umphh

Maybe Matt with Back Alley creations can whip something up for you.

Quoted from Yelobird:

How with all that art from top to bottom they opted to skimp on the coin door on CE is beyond me?

With everybody watching the topper, why bother with the coin door ? And they need it fully functioning. Coin chutes and bill validator holes. Hard to decorate around them and work for every owner.

Anybody really wanting barnacles on the coin door can get it done.

Quoted from Yelobird:

LTG, maybe I presented my plea incorrectly.

No, appreciate your thoughts.

Quoted from Yelobird:

My point was the CE uses a Special powder coat color on the legs, rails, arms, etc

Rails get the barnacles.

Quoted from lurch:

Is there a list of places where this machine is available to play?

Just one on location in Chicago right now.

A show is the best bet right now. TPF is coming up.

Once the test games go out, I'm sure their locations will be posted.

Quoted from pindome:

but for an additional few hundred to have a full license

You couldn't do it for that, though. You'd probably double the price of the game.

Quoted from Mike_J:

I would've selected a different license.

And not use one of the three they had to buy ?

Eric and JJP have made an amazing game. Rule set and game play will win the day.
