I was viewing this eBay sale for a SS (link attached) and have started to notice a small trend with ladies standing next to a pinball machine, much like models at a car show. Just curious, if you think that this either helps or hurts the sale? Moreover, would it depend on the perceived 'beauty' of the model? (or lack of, if seen that way?)

On a lesser note, is a SS with LED's & chrome worth $10K today?!?

It's almost a toss up between the woman next to the pin or pin outside the garage door.
Someone need's to come up with something new, I'm bored with both.

    #3 8 years ago

It just reduces the value is all

    #4 8 years ago

i thought that she came with it? for 10,000$ i'd hope so.

For the price the seller is charging for that SS, the girl should be included.

Edit: Looks like Bos and I both reached the same conclusion.

    haha too true

    #7 8 years ago

I don't understand the prices on ebay unless it is meant to scare people away from owning. I was after a few JP pins but the starting price was $3,295.

I know others have the suggestion to make an offer vs bidding. I think ebay is best for parts/mods.

    #8 8 years ago

As long as there's no pics of men in spandex with them, I'm ok with the others lol!

If they're going to put a woman on there, at least make sure she is hot.

    Seriously

    #12 8 years ago

Maybe he's implying girls like pinball, and if I buy his I'm sure to attract a girl right? With a feedback of 14 I say good luck getting anyone to bid $10k, much less take him seriously

    Exactly what i thought ..

    I Traded 3 Pin's ( SG , DM & Whirlwind and got my SS + $ 200.00 cash..)
SS was my 1st A-Title and the 1st Pin Ever to be in the main Part of the House.. I Would like another.

Are you sure that's not a guy?

I think BR's cardboard silhouette of Elvira next to it would have came off much better, and looked better.

Woof, that's what I thought. I don't know if I'll ever play SS again.

    la la, la, la lola

    #19 8 years ago

Clearly a #3 on the list of CL types. I reckon if I was a wealthy investment banker, or big illegal drug cartel member, I wouldn't want to haggle over a mere 10k. I'd just pay to whomever could get it to me the fastest. Like the song goes... dream on...dream on...dream until your dream comes true!

    #20 8 years ago

It is, it is a guy. I think it's Gary Busey!

That would make it a celebrity endorsement.

    #21 8 years ago

I like the trend when I am attracted to the models But i still wont pay a 100% markup on the game, these people are nuts.

    #22 8 years ago

I hate to say this but she kinda looks like Philip Seymour-Hoffman in drag!

    #23 8 years ago

Women standing next to cars is so much better IMO.

    #24 8 years ago

Yep, every time i see that it reminds me of this Simpson's classic

+1 Yeah, when he dressed up like a woman in the movie Under Siege. Looks just like him.

    #27 8 years ago

LMAO, I wonder if the seller is a pinsider

    #28 8 years ago

He says he tries to compete with high end restorers but that really isn't the case IMO.

Yeah, he's failing miserably at that one.

    $9,950.00?!?

    Great movie.

    #38 8 years ago

Used Cars Great movie! Filmed in Mesa, Az. and Phoenix, Az. Grandpa from the "Munsters" was the judge in it. 1980 was the year. Hey "Munsters" would be a good theme for a pin, whatcha think?

    #39 8 years ago

Also how about the models being topless or atleast in "bikini's" just a thought! I heard it was the sellers daughter in the photo shots with the pins!

    #40 8 years ago

someone should ask him a question on his ebay listing, like "Does the guy standing next to the pin come with it to keep it serviced"?

put the hot girls in thongs. and to the ass hat with the 10,000 ss.stop trying to get rich off of our passion. ass hat.

    #43 8 years ago

Wow you guys are harsh. I have no complaints about her. I remember the rgp thread that had the guy who had models posing next to the machines(probably the same seller?). A lot of the regulars on there complaining about the practice/model sounded like they have very little experience talking with women. Heh

    #44 8 years ago

I think the ebay seller in the original post is a different seller than the guy mentioned on RPG.
