The western states are in for some major weather this weekend! They are saying we could see up to 4' of snow here in Colorado. I know what that means... Get your pinball projects lined up man cuz you gonna be home for awhile! What you guys planning on doing. I just got an AFM and sure hope my parts get here before the storm.

    Quoted from boscokid:

February snow in Delaware just melted, supposed to be 70 tomorrow. Good luck in the fluff!

Yeah, but it will be a comin your way soon enough. Maybe not as snow, maybe somethin much worse... lots and lots moisture.

    #7 3 years ago

Guess we will see. They are talking 1-4 feet so not looking forward to the shoveling.

    #9 3 years ago

It was warm here today too. The warm before the storm!

    Quoted from RyanStl:

Hopefully this helps with the drought you were in before. Maybe not an issue anymore, can't keep up.

The problem here is this damn thing will drop three feet of snow, then we won't see any significant moisture cycle for months. The drought continues...
I have a nice snow mover up at my place in the mountains but nothin but a shovel down here in town. At least it's an orange shovel.

    Who is this?

Thats my 12 year old daughter. She had to climb in there.

    Quoted from mrm_4:

recommend going to a second hand instrument shop and finding her an old Telecaster and distortion pedal.
She can start a garage band called Colorado Dozer or something. Skip lessons, just make noise until it starts sounding good.

Good suggestion! She already attends a school for the Arts.

    Quoted from sulli10:

Good luck man!!! We got bombed pretty bad this season ,but not 4 feet at one time. I worry about the roofs and decks that get hit with that much weight.

Yeah the last time this happened at the level they are saying this one will unfold was March 2003. We got 32” here in town and we got eight feet at our place in the mountains (Idaho Springs) Thats why the backhoe is standing by!

    Quoted from EricHadley:

No worries, I have a generator

    Good answer!

Damn it! Still waitin on those parts!

    Quoted from JRBBRJ:

I’m excited. Going to sled with my 5 year old daughter. Rebuild/learn how to rebuild a flipper on night moves. Maybe smoke some meat in the snow. All fun things.

You forgot shoveling.... and sniveling, gettin the car stuck, puttin that transmission in that you have been puttin off. Watching your gutters fall off the house because you blew off cleaning them in the fall. Oh well looky there, damn car has a flat tire in the snow! They never go flat on a nice day noooo...

It's Saturday where's the damn snow? Supposed to have been here by now.

Still waiting for the blizzard. The weather guessers are stickin to their story but as of 6:00 pm this morning we have an inch and a half. They promise it’s coming! Anyway got some nice work done on my Attack From Mars. Replaced the side rails, disassembled cleaned and added new lift trim for the back box, solved a rogue saucer hit issue, printed some apron cards,
Removed a bent lock mech for the lock bar
To straighten. She is starting to look and act like a nice machine now. Just need that colordmd...

    Quoted from EricHadley:

Finally some snow! Maybe 8” so far. Really coming down now though and blowing around.

Yeah overheard about 4000 people without power now and I thought about you.

    #49 3 years ago
    Quoted from SilverUnicorn:

the side rails easy to do? I have to switch out the ones on my Dr. Dude and I am weary of doing it.

It is not difficult. But you need to use some heat. I use a hairdryer. I use two scrapers. One plastic and one metal. I heat the old rail until it just gets too hot to touch. Then slip the plastic scraper under the rail pushing the adhesive and separating it from the machine side. Then slip in the metal scraper on top of the plastic one. Pull up slightly on the metal one and continue to heat the rail as you work toward the back of the machine. Work about 5 inches at a time. Once you heat the area pull the scrapers out and repeat til the rail comes off. Work slow til you get the hang of it.

Holy Smokes It’s snowin now! Finally! I still will take feet of snow over the softball sized hail this thing is forecasted to deliver to all points east of here. I already lost one vehicle to that kinda thing a few years ago.
I bought the severely hail damaged vehicle back from the insurance company and kept driving it. Once I took a trip back east, someone asked “what happened to your vehicle”. I replied “we are from Colorado all our vehicles look like this”.

    Quoted from EricHadley:

You need a Thor. It’s a beast! Can throw snow 62 feet!

Let me have a crack at THOR! I will run it down the street and get everyone out for work in the morning!

So today is the big dig out. Officially Denver got 2 feet of snow. We probably got a little more here (30”). No big deal really for me being a mountain guy we see way more than this in Idaho Springs every year. Sure would be nice to have that backhoe down here though...
Did have one casualty in the gameroom. My Monster Bash smoked the AC Line filter. (I guess due to power bumps) Damn thing smoked up the gameroom and sent me into panic mode. Strange thing, the game was off so once I realized it was MB, I went back to tech mode. The smell of burning plastic still lingers.
