Quoted from apinballwiz:If they did, I guess we could also benefit with a software update.
I would imagine that would be exclusive to the YBR Edition.
Quoted from PanzerFreak:POTC is a classic theme at this point considering nearly everyone knows about the ride that has been around for years and has seen at least the first film.
There was a precipitous drop after the first film. I wish the game was centered around the ride.
Quoted from PanzerFreak:Just to note, total budget for all 5 films was $1.27 billion and the total box office take was $4.56 billion.
Thanks for the note.
I still wish it was based on the ride or that it would have included some of the main actors and film footage from this $4.6 billion franchise.
Quoted from PanzerFreak:Rather have more toys and features as the game is today then video clips, otherwise it may have looked as bare as Star Wars.
Yeah, maybe, but I’d never buy Stern Star Wars either.
I’ve played JJP POTC a few times at the Silverball Museum and its not a game for me.
Quoted from PanzerFreak:This is such an old and played out argument. Don't blame JJP for Stern no longer offering full featued games for $4k...blame Stern and their customers (us!). Oh, a little blame can go to inflation too.
Stern saw what JJP was charging and decided to jack up their prices all while stripping out features and lowering quality. It's kinda like Ford deciding to charge $50k for a Focus just because a competitor is charging $50k for product that actually justifies the price tag.
Regardless the reason, today’s prices are just plain silly.
Quoted from f3honda4me:If it’s $11.5k it better have some amazing added features in it. That’s a stupid price.
JJP and even Stern, are known for stupid prices.
Quoted from f3honda4me:I wish I knew how to find these distributors that ship games below list and free shipping. I call lots of distributors and none of them budge on price and no free shipping. Tried this with WOZ, MBr, and a couple other games.
Keep shopping and never waste your time with any of the dealers on Pinside who list their price as firm.
For any folks buying YBRWOZ, I have some beautiful oceanfront property in Kansas for only $200 an acre that would be perfect for you.
Quoted from adol75:You are most likely right on that, the changes JJP made on YBR are matching all their later machines in terms of implementation and build, and I don't see the monkey ever making a come back. So I could totally see them release a new standard version with no monkey for 9.500$
I'm even worried about my monkey actually, wondering if they won't produce replacement parts anymore and if JJP future response to monkey issues will be to install the no monkey software and say goodbye to the castle door lock.
The monkey will now be on the screen. JJP is combining pinball with a video game experience.
