I've just recently learned that Williams flippers changed after April 1993 to have a shorter travel distance through the use of a longer A-12390 coil stop instead of the shorter A-12111 coil stop, which I think is equivalent to the coil stops used for system 11 machines, but I'm not certain.

Either way, it got me thinking about flippers and whether there are any standard attributes shared between most or many machines by the same manufacturer that would have an affect on the single most important way you interact with the machine. Are Williams flippers (or the flipper return guides) always at the same the angle? Is there any standardization between the centre drain width? For example, are there normal, wide or centre post required widths?
