Do you know how many girl pinball collectors there are on this site??

    #2 12 years ago

Well, I'm female. Don't know if I fall under "girl" at 30, though...

Well, for me and many on here, you still fall in the "young gal" category, anyway!

Whoa! That is a lot of machines Cadillac. You don't happen to throw pinball parties for fellow Clevelanders do you?

    #5 12 years ago

We get a few, the numbers build for a bit
then some guys start posting stuff that scares them away

    #6 12 years ago

Ha, I hang out on somethingawful. Not gonna scare me away very easily. And they're not my machines, as much as the machines of the man I work for. They're mine to care for, in any case. That's maybe a third of them I bothered to list. We got a bunch of old EM's too. Uh, we don't hold parties, but you can come to our showroom and play a few games if you act interested in buying one. Come check out our prototype CV and SS, they're mucho cool.

Oh what kind of EMs do you have?
    1960s, 70s ?

    #8 12 years ago

Uh, yes. Let's see. I went to the second warehouse before to look what was worth refurbing. Sadly, none of it hit over $1000, which is kind of the line for us. But we have in storage:

    A whole room of bingos
    Future Spa
    Tri-Zone
    Meteor
    Supersonic
    Strikes and Spares
    Mystic
    Playboy
    Stars
    Champ
    Eightball
    Wizard
    Winner
    Spae Mission
    Globetrotters
    Olympic Hockey
    Blue Max
    Scorpion
    Space Invaders
    Flight 2k
    Dealers Choice
    Hit+Run
    Nightrider
    Hayburners
    Faces
    Circus
And many more that didn't have headglasses or a name written on them. I kind of think of our current machines like a stable of horses. They're not mine, but I take care of them, so I have a bit of a bond with them. Is that silly?

Thanks for posting your inventory CM. I know of about 10 +/- active members on here who are of the female persuasion. Some are couples who share a nym.

I bet we have some folks who would be interested in purchasing machines you listed.

    No not silly at all.

    #11 12 years ago

    no it's not silly
the longer I have an old pin the more I find it's personality - you know what falls out of adjustment
the double pop of a re set bank Z or AX relays that bully the scores around .......
makes it hard to part with them eh?

    #12 12 years ago

Cadillac, I sent you a message about the selection and prices. I'm in the area and interested in an EM if the price is right and it isn't too heavy... ha.

Sorry Ms Music...but 30 is young to me.

You guys are very sweet. I can't help but feel old when I realize I own DVDs that are older than my nephew....and music that was playing on the radio when I was a kid is now on the "oldies" station.

Good to see a female talk pins , gives us hope

    #18 12 years ago

Find a boardgame group if you want to meet girls. Once you get to know them they will give pinball a try.

Also, I've met quite a few girls in bars. I earn some free credits and then ask if they want to play. If I see the ball going for the outlane while they're playing, I step in and death save it. Man oh man, that gets the digits every time.

    #19 12 years ago

Oh oh oh no jonnyo! Methinks you are fanning the flames. And how are you deathsaving on the outlane? More of a SDTM technique... I am a future collector- don't own anything yet, but that should be changing soon. For now, my main squeeze provides 4 for me to play, break, fix and clean. And I have an embarrasment of wealth with friends nearby collections. I just bat my eyes or bring over a case of beer if I want to play at one of their homes.

    Well played MSH!

Hey Caddie...what's your favorite SS and EM game?

    #24 12 years ago

I'm hoping we mean women playing pinball. Watch out for MSH, I don't think you guys can hang here. BTW,

Happy Mothers Day to all the girls/women of Pinside!

Just because you are female, doesn’t mean you’ve born a child. Then again, if you’re nerdy enough to enjoy pinball then maybe your machines are your babies (better than a bunch of cats).

That's why it said "mothers" day.

Jennifer laughs...May as well have some pins I guess, My friends and family pretty much wrote me off when I started burning chrome in cyanide, can't really blame them I suppose in hindsight, but just for the record this Princess no longer does her own plating, and is actively looking for a cat.
