I recently purchased a rough Stern Split Second (1981) and I'm trying to get it back up and running.

The spinner was missing when I got it, and it appears no one has them in stock anymore.

The part is 14A-7-2:

I noticed there are a few places that sell a decal for this spinner, and now I'm wondering if anyone knows if there's a good substitution for this part. Is there a blank spinner for another pin that I can use and possibly put a decal on?

Unfortunately I don't have anything to go off of for dimensions on this spinner.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks!

Used spinners pop up for sale occasionally. I'd suggest putting up a WTB listing in the marketplace.

I also see them at shows locally in the northeast--usually Mayfair Amusements has some in their booth. You can try calling or emailing them--they do ship stuff out.

Unfortunately mayfairamusement doesn't have these. I emailed them today

Thanks for the suggestions. Hopefully I can find something.

Don't see how that looks any different than a ballys spinner, whole bunch of them on sale on e-bay

I wonder why Steve doesn't list these as being for Stern? We have seen plenty of Bally Spinners on Stern games, and Stern Spinnners on Bally games as well as early Gottlieb spinners. These feature the thicker wire and therefore, may require you to drill out the holes in the frame. But the thicker wire is preferred in my opinion. I would check out the dimensions of the Brunswick Aspen and Alive spinners Steve has for $6.50 (Click on his Thumbnail for dims). If they are the right size, just paint them white and apply the Classic Stern sticker.

From The Pinball Resource:

Generic Enhanced White Replacement Wire Spinner for Gottlieb, Bally, and Williams games that had wire spinner

*Note: These enhanced spinners have a thicker wire than some of the original parts, you may have to enlarge the mounting holes for this spinner!

System 11 spinners are close enough to classic stern as my F-14 has a classic stern spinner in it and it works fine.

Anyone to trade? My classic stern (white with blue stars) for an F-14 spinner?
