This doesn't make sense to me, why stop making this game that's so highly rated?
Hope it's just a rumor.

License time frame runs out, Stern probably has less interest now. They are known to extend the license if the demand is there.
While pinheads like it, I really don't see it as a game that a guy with a 200k income throws in his mancave to take up space.
I also heard that although its fun it doesn't earn that well

I would bet they will make some more at a later time.
Here is an interesting tidbit I found.
BM66 Availability:STERN IS DOING A VERY SMALL RUN IN NOVEMBER 2020, THESE ARE EXPECTED TO SHIP THEN.
If the demand is there, they'll make more in the future.
It seems like it sold really well and is a modern classic for home collectors and competitive players. From annecdotal experience, it didn't do great on route once the new factor wore off. If someone wants one, they aren't hard to get.
Other titles have more demand now and keeping the line busy rules the day.
Quoted from Ericpinballfan:Yes, please pause all Production and get Led Zeppelin out. Thank you.
Are they really doing a Led Zeppelin pin ?
I thought they couldn't, because, you know,
NO QUARTER ..

It's a great game, I bought one for myself since it's a perfect game for home use with the difficulty and all there is to do. It's true that IM did not earn well, at least it didn't here locally. After the honeymoon phase wore off, they were dropping like flies from locations.
Game is hard for the casual player and the theme doesn't have widespread appeal, especially with kids and especially when there are other options like Star Wars, Deadpool, Ghostbusters, Guardians of the Galaxy, etc to choose from at the location.
