I have a friend with a black spinner, early production Fireball. The serial number is 1058, the 58th made out of 3018. With condition being equal, are they more sought after than the orange spinner’d later issues?

Wow,I've never seen one before. Of course, they are all high priced. Not sure I would pay more since I'm used to the red/orange.

My friend has 1013 I believe. Prototype cabinet full restored. I believe it's around $3,500

I was involved in operating back then, so I've followed the history of the game from its beginning. I've never heard of anyone offering to pay extra for a black spinner, even though that is what you see on the flyer. Maybe the availability of black spinners from Twin Win is a factor.

BTW, when IPDB says that the production quantity of 3815 is "confirmed," you can bet on it.

What's the difference with the cabinet if any?

    Nah.

On the plus side, I've had a couple German versions and they didn't seem to be worth considerably less.

I’ve looked at them (cabinets) both side by side or, as they say in Canada, “side by each” and there’s no difference to the cabinets. Just the black spinner...

I have a complete black spinner ass. from a twin win - I bought it to install in my Fireball as I think the black spinner looks better, or at least different.. I like having both though as the orange is original.

Every Fireball I have seen for sale with a black spinner had a corresponding low production number consistent with a genuine early production game. Prices seem about the same more or less but the early games with black spinners seem to sell straight away.
