I am working on a Playboy and it appears that the Buss and Return/ground wires on the backboard light panel may be causing the 20v fuse on the rectifier board to blow.

I see that the GI lamp socket wiring is not consistent in their orientation.

On some of the sockets, the ground/return wire is soldered to the leg that is away from the playfield and separated by the red wafer. On others the metal braid wire is soldered to the other leg.

To illustrate, in the attached picture the red wire that is connected to one side of the braid runs through the upper leg on some sockets and the lower leg on other sockets. The upper and lower legs are separated by a grey wafer in this example.

Thanks for that reply. So would you suspect a shorted socket to be the reason for the fuse blowing?
