Are they?

I would have to say yes, especially if it is a small collection. If your collection is big then I’d say get them both.

I voted no because I own a Kiss pro and want to buy an Aerosmith, so I refuse to hear they are the same. I should note that I only have a 4 pin collection.

Layouts are similar. Games play a lot different!

Both suck

Have both both very fun and feel very different except for some familiar shots

I have both in a 6 pinball collection & think that they are both great
I've played the AS premium & feel that it resembles Kiss more closely due to the steepness of the right ramp, making backhand shots practically impossible
Not so on AS pro, yay!
So I proudly own a Kiss premium & now an AS pro
If I had to choose one, I'd go AS, although Kiss is my favourite band

Haha. Both are Lonnie coded.

AS will hand you your arse. The issue is the layouts are similar and so are the drains from the pops. I think Kiss is easier.

I'd say yes. Replace one with the other and get something way different.

#11 6 years ago

While they do have a similar layout, they play differently.

KISS is easier for sure, AS can be a drain monster.

They do play very differently.

I had Kiss - loved it - played the hell out of it.
Played Aerosmith once released - thought it was an improvement over Kiss - sold Kiss - bought Aerosmith NIB.

Less than 5 months later - sold Aerosmith because it felt like I was playing the same machine.
It's a good game...but yes---way way too similar to Kiss to have both in a small collection.

Compliment one or the other with Metallica(any) or ACDC Premium....smarter way to go IMHO.

Get AS and MET.....better way to go....

#15 6 years ago

Even though Kiss & AS share a very similar layout, they play quite differently
The flow & rules set them apart

Many great games share a similar layout,
Star Wars = AC/DC
Star Trek = Spider-man
Guardians? = Metallica

I think they can all co-exist in someone's collection, with a few others thrown in for good measure
I recall upon purchasing my first NIB (Kiss), that this one pinball would be all I'll ever want
Fast forward 2 years and the total now stands at 6, just trying to figure out how to sell it to the Mrs that maybe we should try for just one more...guardians...maybe

I voted yes, I would diversify. I do have as and met but have others as well and nothing plays like my Hobbit.

Yes

Have both and both are fun to play. I like KISS better. They play different.

I had a Kiss LE, took in a Aerosmith Pro on trade and after getting AS, I never turned Kiss on again, and eventually sold it. Its actually the only pro model stern I have, and I'm quite happy with it. I told myself that if I liked it enough, that id get a premium, however, I'm so happy with the pro, that I'm just gonna keep it

I own both and they are fantastic. Go for it!

I was wrong: Kiss rules, Aerosmith sucks

So my question, I have a Met Prem and a Kiss LE, would GOTG be too similar to those?

Im in the same boat. Im very interested in Gotg, but will not impulse buy. Going to wait and see how the code comes along. If the code is fun....i have no problems having a similiar layout...
