Has anyone seen a relay do this?

So I had a burnt coil there and they had put a M-25 400 coil but the schematics showed a M29 1000. Ordered one from Marco Specialties and they sent me a M29 1100. So my pin isn't blowing fuses anymore but it's doing this crazy thing. What should I be looking for?

it's the Hole up relay out of a Zaccaria Universe

Compare the coil core with other relays in the game. My guess is your relay is missing the copper ring around core, which is needed for AC operated relays.

Ah yes you are correct. I didn't think that would make a difference. So I basically bought the wrong coil?

Yes, or they sold you a wrong one. Maybe you could try to swap the core from the old coil to the new.

Awesome, thanks for the info!

I agree with @tuukka. If the coil doesn't have the copper ring around one end the return spring will pull the armature away from the coil 120 (or 100 in some places) times per second while the magnetic field in the coil decreases to zero and changes direction. So while you normally might get an arc once when switches on the relay open, you're seeing that repeated 120 times per second giving you many more arcs.
