This is great that someone is doing for this for Socal.

This is different that many other shows in that there are already games at this location. Are we encouraged to bring our games like other shows/expos or are we just going to show up and play all the games that are there?

Bump - who is going to Arcade Expo?

Marco and Nifty LED will be in attendance...

    Quoted from o-din:

    Will there be "older" games?

Ask that Nimblyguy - he'll tell you there are a bunch...

    Quoted from Rarehero:

Sure, but you live in Bumblefuck.
Banning is a tough sell for anyone who lives closer to LA or further.
I kinda don't want to go, to be honest ..but I feel like I should.

Banning is only 90 minutes away for most of us in So Cal

It isnt the ideal location but I'd rather have a nice peaceful drive for 90 minutes, than the hour of hell of a drive in to LA to go to 82

    Quoted from wayner:

Wow looks to be a great event-only wish it was closer!!
I have looked at the website but have a few questions I hope someone is able to respond to.
Who actually owns the substantial premises and machines. Are the machines located there permanently and will access be available other than through the two events per year. Thanks.

Facts to the best of my knowledge:
John Weeks owns most of the collection here as well as the facility.

    Speculation:
I believe John wants to have the facility open on a more regular basis, there are permits and licensing that need to take place for this to happen. Until then there will probably multiple events per year.

    Quoted from wayner:

An incredible array of pins & games-thks for posting.
This is an absolutely stunning facility in terms of size, appearance & future potential. I am not in the US so I have no idea of property values but it must have cost a significant amount and I assume ongoing taxes & overheads for a facility of this size would be substantial! Does anyone know the previous use of this facility?
I applaud the vision and commitment of John Weeks and would dearly love to be at the opening-may be next time! But for the life of me I cannot understand how the $ stack up based on what I assume is the initial & ongoing investment??

The building/land is in an area that nobody really wants to live or work... I dont know the price paid for property. The land is quite large and John uses some of the other buildings for non pinball/arcade related stuff.

The company that previously owned the property was Deutsch Engineered Connecting and it looks like it was used for manufacturing

    Quoted from Miguel351:

Holy cow! I never realized how close you guys were to Banning's airport! If my father still had his Cessna 182, I'd have him just drop me off for the weekend! It'd be soooo much easier and wayyyy faster than driving from Fresno.

We went over and talked to the airport secretary.. she said on a really busy weekend they can get 8 planes coming in!

Can't pass this up. I'm going Saturday. This will be my first arcade or pinball show ever. I assume I can buy tickets at the door?

    Yes you can!

    Quoted from practicalsteve:

Also, anyone else getting to the area super early? My flight gets me in at 8:30am and I cant even check into my hotel until 2:00pm. I think I may hit up that casino for a bloody mary and some slot machine action, gotta figure out something to do for that long

I'll be around probably around 9-10 AM - although i have a booth to setup...
