Arcade Expo here I come, On my way, 4:30 hour drive
Opens at 11 today doesn't it? You're gonna be there early. I'm headed out in another hour or so.
Yeah I need to get some breakfast somewhere so I have a little free time To do that maybe I will hit me wrong I'm not sure. A little snow in the mountains.
We're here waiting for all you guys. Friday was packed but there's plenty of food and pins (and arcade) games for everyone.
It was a BLAST last night. Be ready!
That's Dirty Donny surrounded by his art and Can Crusher, Aerosmith and Metallica. He signed my Met translite and playfield. Woohoo. Many other pin and arcade legends.
Guess they use these bad boys to help to power this place...great idea on going here Mr Bally. Ordering an ham and cheddar omelet as I type this.
Snow in sight, waiting in a short line that is moving fast. The sign is Epic so I will post it twice!
My phone died on me...just got some juice in it. The dinner was really good, I am Italian so I love lasagna! Tim's frontier was beyond awesome. I had a great time it's midnight now and I had to get out of there To reset. Here are some pictures.
Well one day of Expo overload was enough for me so I decided to hightail it home last night and drive with little traffic. I prefer driving in the early morning or at night. The event was a great time and the wait to play a game for me was really non existent, if someone was on a game I just waited for them to finish and played next. People were all nice and I didn't see any game hogs which was nice. I felt most of the games played well and there were lots of Techs keeping everything in working order. This was a great time playing some awesome games! Good people, food, atmosphere. Met lots of awesome pinheads and had a great time. Marco had a lot of games in an outside tent area which was great. Brew Rebellion was there and had a really good berry wheat beer. Talked to Dirty Donny for awhile, great guy and really humble. Picked up a few things. All in all this was a lot of fun and if you haven't been I really recommend it.
Rename the thread I figured I'd head down to the banding pinball madness show today and see what it's all about
Does anyone have the name of the brewery where the dinner for the arcade Expo Was held at?
I did some tech work there last weekend. I must say, that is THE finest collection of pinball machines I have ever seen. I'm jealous of you guys who get to go this weekend.
This one I meant to post. Starting to get more people...crazy costumes too. Lines are just one person though so not bad. I am bummed as blackwater100 is down...one of the main reasons I wanted to drive down.
What a great time yesterday, although I could only stay a few hours I got to chat with quite few pinsiders. The crowd was pretty small ( we were there from 3:30-6:30 ) there were a lot of red shirted techs all over the place and the number of games not working was incredibly low. Im not sure how many may have gone down later in the night. Some of the costumes were incredible, everybody seemed to have a great time.
The only thing I did notice was that as we were leaving it was really getting hot in the pinball room, near the stern LEs was the worst. The AC was having trouble keeping up.
I was pleasantly suprised when my adult son and daughter said they wanted to come with my wife and I. They loved it as well.
My son playing Haunted House...
Yesterday was absolute Pinball Madness!
The games did great all day. Big crowd in the evening. Chuck and John did a amazing job on the Haunted Funhouse! Red shirt techs were on it all day long, working on stuck balls, minor gliches, or serious dig in work, even on future available games.
Come Arcade Expo 4.0 this should be the best event ever at Bannning come March.
Left at about 8 last night. Had a great time, really wasn't all that crowded. Lots of Techs....thank you all! Met a non pinsider, great guy named Jeff from San Diego and played quite a bit of games with him. Centaur introduced us which is a great two player. One of the reasons pinball is so great to me is meeting new friends. Was pretty bummed Blackwater100 wasn't up and running as it was the one game I was really looking forward to playing...hopefully it is working by 4.0.
Great write up on your time at Pinball Madness. We had a blast there as well. Check out this walkthrough video. You might see yourself in it.
