Checking to see who else is in on this machine? Looks to be well made and crossing fingers that it plays well. This is the machine I have been waiting for to be released by them. Currently also have their star wars cab and the AFM virtual pinball. This should go well with those!

here is a thread all about 1up's

I think it is great they are making these. I don' like the price hikes but people keep buying at whatever price....

Ya they usually don't release single game units. It is nice to see they put on both games

Here is a pic for anyone

Yup, had to get one. I was guessing it would start at $649 so wasn’t that far off haha. I don’t buy many but it was a must have for me. Otherwise I just have Star Wars, Big Buck Hunter and the Atari 12-in-1 which will end up a converted mame system if the board ever dies

    #6 1 year ago

Will be my first 1up… hoping for a quality gun/trigger to get me some spiders!!

    #7 1 year ago

Wish it had other games, but the games are great

    #8 1 year ago

I have been pretty impressed with the cabinets. Size and weight are ideal in a home environment, at least for me. I have a sit down cocktail table that is a 419 in one and another upright that has around 300 in it. These are fine for standard type controls, joystick buttons and maybe a track ball. I find games like Tron, Star Wars and Outrun the arcade 1up units are hard to beat just because they have the proper controls. I currently have the afore mentioned Star Wars and Outrun and I knuckled under on Tron and ordered that today. These are a great compliment to the game room and my younger Niece and Nephew love playing them along with the pinball machines.

    #9 1 year ago

Roughly what do they charge for shipping on these?

    #10 1 year ago

One click away but just couldn’t stomach the price hike on these recently. Good luck to all those that pulled the trigger.

    #11 1 year ago

Fair warning these are awkward for taller adults, 64" to the top of the cabinet means the monitor will be about 4 feet off the ground.

Probably better with a riser or in a setting where you can have a barstool

    #12 1 year ago

700 bucks.... guess I'll just save up for a real one at that price. Jesus christ.

I think at $599 I would be tempted but $699 is pushing it. Anyone know of any coupon codes that work on the Arcade 1up site?

    #14 1 year ago

Don’t forget it comes with the riser and a Tron stool! Normally the stool adds about $100 bucks

Yeah see that's one of my beefs. I don't need a 100 dollar stool. Or the riser for that matter. Just sell me a damn product without all the extra shit.

Anyone have a clue on how DoT is supposed to work as it doesn’t look like this has a push/pull spinner?

    #17 1 year ago

I miss the days buying these on clearance for $75 at Wal-mart. Got a number of titles that way, such as MK, SF, FF, galaga, asteroids, etc

    #18 1 year ago

Just as a follow up…a local place near to me has an actual full size working Tron for 800. This is all about taking advantage of fomo and current market trends. Can’t blame them, but jeez

    #19 1 year ago

I’m in. Looking forward to it. My first one of these.

I find it extremely hard to believe one could get a full size tron for 800 -- i'm guessing not an original. Trons go for over 2K now. Hell, you couldn't get one for 800 ten years ago. If you did find one for 800 buy it and flip it fast!

*I'm assuming by actual you mean a real tron machine. If you're talking about a reproduction with an LCD sure -- You can get those for okay prices and depending on space constraints I'm sure you could find better deals than arcade 1ups if you look.

    #21 1 year ago

Nice. I wish they just do away with those risers and make them taller. Seems most users are adults anyway.

    #22 1 year ago

Why the fawk is it $700? Even the star wars one with the fancy controller was only $400 with the riser. This seems insanely priced. Disney license jacked it up that much over star wars? I dont' think so.

No, it was an original and for sale for years at that price. I think it finally sold, but not sure what amount?

    #24 1 year ago

Dang it - I couldn’t resist buying one. I miss my DoT environmental and Tron/DoT on the MAME blows.

    #25 1 year ago

I preordered. I sold my non working Tron arcade cab years ago for twice as much as this one and have been hoping that they would make one of these. bundling with Discs of Tron ....bonus! Of course I traded away my Tron LE pin last month so they can't sit next to each other

    #26 1 year ago

I wonder if this thing could be gutted to put this in a real TRON cabinet?

    #27 1 year ago

I like the size. It’s like an attractive cabaret.

What I really want to know is if this has the speech that the EDOT does? Does it laugh at you? Does it have the opening speech? Master control program has chosen you.........

Yeah, I had (and later sold) a Tron in the '90s, and I remember it being outsized in price even back then. Where you could find most arcade games under $1K, Tron (and Tempest, and a few rare games) were over. Don't remember by how much, just that it was always one of the top price fetchers. Heavy as a fridge, too.

    #30 1 year ago

I was so close to owning an environmental DoT; but, someone sniped it out from under me at the last second.

I still have concerns about how the Arcade1up is going to handle DoT without the push/pull spinner because it certainly doesn't look like one is there.

If needed, I'll just swap the spinner from my DoT control panel or the old MAME repro version I've got.

DoT is still such a great game.

    #31 1 year ago

spinner very well could be push pull type. They did a great job with the SW yoke, I don't see why they would skimp here either. Especially since the price is almost double.

    Waiting for a MrDo! cabinet

    #33 1 year ago

Just wait a few months, these things all end up on fb or cl after the thrill wears off.

    #34 1 year ago

Anyone play the one up tempest, and is $449 a decent price for it?

If you’re patient, these things usually end up on clearance. I picked up a NIB Star Wars and Golden Tee and didn’t have to pay anything approaching retail. Star Wars was $350 and came with a $100 remote control storm trooper, this was via Walmart.com. Just have to keep your eyes peeled on the deal websites.

Maybe - but this year will be different with all the supply chain issues.

I doubt it. They're just capitalizing on Xmas FOMO. They'll be pumping these out for years at half the price.

I don’t have the standalone Tempest, but I do have it as part of the original Atari 12 in 1. The emulation is fine. My high scores and levels completed are consistent with what I was getting back in the arcade days. I will say that the Arcade1Up spinner is a big disappointment. It’s playable, but just. Fortunately, there are replacements available that make the game much more satisfying. You will probably want to include the cost of a new spinner as part of your price calculus.

    #39 1 year ago

I remember playing a lot of Tron around the time the first movie came out. I haven’t played it since the ‘80s. Does it really hold up well after all these years? I really don’t have room for a third Arcade1Up, but if I were to take the plunge it would be for a Defender/Stargate, Robotron, or Tron.

The Tron/DOT says internet connectivity of some sort so you maybe able to play with others? I think the 1UPs are kinda cool looking and for what you get. They get panned by some but they're target customer is a Harry Homeowner that doesn't want to spend a small fortune on a 40 year old game the size of a vending machine. Hell, I had an original Tempest that was a PITA maintenance wise to keep working with the color vector. The thing got a hot as a pizza oven when being played also - even with added fans blowing. I'll love playing my original DOT and always on the look out for Tron cabaret If I didn't have the DOT I'd pick one of these up just because its such a cool game.

I loved my DoT environmental when I had it, but *oh my gosh* was it a beast. I would guess 700lbs. In the end, I just couldn’t justify taking up a spot where a pinball could be. But I do miss it.

If they ever did an arcade 1up with Dragons Lair 1/2 and Space Ace 1/2, it would sell SO well. Daphne was a great emulation attempt, but never felt quite 100%.

Dragon's Lair/Space Ace are coming, with art sets for both styles, but I'm curious on the emulation as well. New Wave Toys did an awesome job on their mini-cade package, so I'm hoping A1Up's follows the same emulation. The one thing I hope A1Up changes is their idea for needing to dock your phone above the screen to emulate the LED scoring.

As for Tron, I added myself to the pre-order craziness. My only other two must-buys are Dragon's Lair and Track & Field.

    #43 1 year ago

Track & Field. Absolutely! Wonder how a 1up would take the button beating. Back in the day, I would wear out some t&f buttons.

Hell yeah they do. Those buttons are pretty easy to replace, though, so not too worried there.

Track&Field was confirmed in a leak a while back, along with Tron, Simpsons, XMen and a few others from what I remember, so hoping we see it by 1st quarter of 2022.

I preordered this one early from Target. The 5% credit card discount and 10% coupon eased the sting.

I have Star Wars (paid full price), Pac-Man and Asteroids (heavily discounted). I enjoy Arcade1up games because they’re user friendly for guests and super light to move.

MAME scratches the multicade itch, but these are great as decor and casual experiences.

    - What's the 10% coupon??

It's a Target Circle offer. Unfortunately, Tron is sold it, but you can use it on other electronics or A1Up cabs, but it only applies to 1 thing. There's also one for 25% off of one toy, which really helps if you've got kids and are doing early Christmas shopping.

Like zombywoof said. The spinner is complete trash. Out of the box, mine barely turned and didn't even register in the game. I ordered an aftermarket one and it spins for days.
The game plays fine, just plan to replace the spinner right out of the box.

    Yup, 10% off electronics.

I'm thinking about this one + the Atari Legacy cab. It's easy to build a MAME for traditional games, but spinners and trackballs feel like more work than they're worth.
