Hello smart people!

We have a Tales of the Arabian Nights machine. Getting the error pictured below, and now it won't start a game even though it is set on free play. The start button doesn't even light up.

Any ideas on where to even start? I don't know that the two issues are related. I checked all the connections. Am I needing a new sound board?

Thanks in advance!

The ribbon cables could be the issue. I would reseat all of them first.

Quoted from whthrs166:

I second this idea.
Believe it or not, loose or damaged connectors at coin door interface board may also cause odd errors. Lastly, loose wire at J-136 ?
Best guess, i cant get to machine backbox do to game room realignment for christmas tree. Defrocking house this weekend and will look in back box once i have a chance.

Thanks for the ideas I will check them out. To give some background (which I should have probably stated earlier and forgot):

These boards (other than the MPU) came from a No Good Gofers. The NGG started with the same error. Since it was on location, we took the boards from this TOTAN (which was not on location) to test. Once installed, the NGG was fixed, but the error carried over to the TOTAN.

I will try reseating the cables and check the J-136 wire.

Thank you

Ok, reseated all ribbon cables. Game now plays but still no sound. Have not looked at J-136 yet but will get there.

So J-136 is not populated and is labled Ground.

Do you know what the connector should be for? I will try to get a manual downloaded and try to dig into this some more
