So....next question on my ES project.

I have replaced alle inserts in my playfield now, and am ready to apply new insert decals. Is there a proven method to this? I see wet and dry methods. I'm leaning towards wet cause then there is the possibility for adjusting the decal on the insert.
Should I then use just water or add some dishsoap for smoothly moving the decal?

For the next step, clearcoating, the pf should be thoroughly cleaned of any debris, dirt, dust and fingermarks. Can I clean over the decals or should i avoid using the rubbing alcohol around de newly placed decals?

thanks...

wow...you need a steady hand for using the dry method. Any tips?

Quoted from prowlerman99:

You should clear coat the playfield first to get a good smooth base for the decals. Wet sand it level, apply the decals then clear coat again. It's going to take you at least a couple coats and wet sanding in between to get a good level finish.

But then you sand your inserts dull again? Doesn't that refsult in clarity loss by placing decals over the sanded inserts?
what grit sandpaper do you use?
