No its 4.9 MV at R114

Look at page 110 of your manual. It tells you how the 5 volts is produced. You may have a bad voltage regulator. The regulator output is what R116 adjusts.

The circuit is on page 115

The Saga continues.

Ordered a new 5V regulator installed it. Plugged board into game. left J16 unplugged. Powered it up all lights LEDs come on (even 5v) adjust pot on 5v to exactally 5v. Everythings looking good.

Turn off the game plug in J16 and it took the 5V regulator out. Back to where I was.

Im ordering a few more 5V regulators.

Short somewhere on J16? Any ideas?

This is the process in the wiki:
"If the voltage on the power I/O driver board is below the +4.85VDC threshold, adjustment can be made via the R116 adjustment pot, until a satisfactory voltage is achieved. The best location to measure the +5VDC is at the bottom leg of resistor R114. R114 is located in the vicinity of the R116 adjustment pot, and just below the +5VDC LED, L2.

Another location to measure the +5VDC is right on the metal casing of the LM338K regulator (U19), If a satisfactory voltage cannot be achieved, turn the game off. Remove connector J16, located above the LM338K regulator. Turn the game back on, and measure the +5V again. If a satisfactory voltage can be acquired with J16 disconnected, a board or component which uses the +5VDC is "dragging" it down. Turn the game off, and remove all 5V input connectors on all other boards at this time. Reconnect J16 again, and review the logic voltage on the I/O Power Driver board. Repeat the process of turning off the game, and reinstalling logic power connectors one at a time to determine the suspect board.

Keep in mind that all opto switch receivers used throughout the game use the same +5VDC logic lines. If no other boards in the backbox appear to be suspect, an opto transmitter board may be at fault."

I dont see an opto transmitter board in the manual. Does anyone know for sure if there is one in Apollo 13? maybe pinwiki is talking about that system in general.

I don't know if Apollo 13 has one. The wiki is for that board in general. I don't know which connectors are 5v input, but I'd just check the manual and remove any that use the 5V so you can test it with J16 plugged in and all the 5v connectors off, then plug the 5v connectors back in one at a time to see which one may be responsible (if any).

There is a opto board on the ball Trough. More or less any board with ICs on it will need the 5 volts.

7 segment board, opto board, Display, Display control board, CPU/ sound board. Maybe something else.

Its alive! Replaced 5v regulator again. Unhooked everything. Added things 1 by 1. And now its back to 100%. only thing i did not hook back up was this counter. Im guessing this was added when the game went to Spain for tax or income purposes. I will be permently removing it soon. What a crazy happenstance. Hopefully this thread helps someone else down the road.

Thanks everyone for your help. Im playtesting now. Not sure if the magnet on the moon is working. But im not sure how it activates in game. Il try it in settings, see what i find.
