American Pinball, 2023I just ordered some ink cartridges for a printer that my wife was hounding me for months to pick up. She needs them and told me get them or else. Order was placed at 1:30pm and two items were delivered before 4pm. Spooky good and, I saved 15% on my insurance with Geico while I waited.

I could see picking one of these up used or temp trading for one a few years down the line when they are about 6k.. This is more interesting to me than Oktoberfest, Hot Wheels, Legends of Vanerial Disease, or Houdini. I would equate my interest in this to that of a nice low use low demand Stern Pro like a Turtles Pro, Star Wars, or BKSOR.

It definitely has that Cinemaware "It Came From the Desert" type of vibe...I don't know...They should have just did a livestream with Steve B blowing up the pin...That would have sold more pins for them, this reveal was shitty.
I'm still looking forward to playing it, and will probably buy one at some point down the line

Too early for us tournament snobs to hate it. But I have faith that Steve Bowden can make sure the game is fun for competitive players. Seems like Nordman and co already filled it up with a lot of curb appeal for those that don't care about scoring.

For all we know it could be. They didnt really show anything. I think it was clips of people having some fun with it. I could be wrong but I guess we will not know until TPF
If this was a music or yet another disney/superhero/cape theme, people would have their New Balances back behind their ears before you could say Corvette.

Rewatched the way-to-short trailer and I like it more and more. The movie clips are campy but still fits the theme. As people mentioned already it got that command & conquer vibe and I played the shit out of those games long ago.
The pin looks crazy, 90s FUN and that's all I care about. I'm super happy someone dare to release a game that isn't a licensed movie or music pin, so tired of those.

Ok just listening to the video a third time, this time without looking at it. If this is what the call outs sound like...I may just let my $100 deposit vanish. I think it would legitimately be the worse call outs in any machine? A filter on the video isn't gonna fix the audio.
I love the theme, i love the artwork, I think the playfield looks great. I could live with the cheesy live action video, but I don't think I could play a game with audio consistent with this.
Hate to pile into the negativity but it seems unlikely this is what they came out with but the gameplay clips/call outs is better.
Best thing that could happen is they see all this feedback and realize they have to redo it in order to sell more machines.

I like the antagonist is Empress Annoya. She'll go in the parthenon of famous fictional pinball baddies like General Yagov.
As much as I want to try this, my local distrbuter didn't get Valhalla until ages after it's reveal.

It's not shooting out of the centerdrain, it's rocketing down the middle and draining. Watch it in slow motion and you'll see it.

Pretty certain those clips were not pulled from game play, and that it using the original raw audio. For the game, the audio was split out to be cleaned and processed by the sound engineer, so I would expect the video clips in game play to sound better. I only heard a few clips processed before I left, but they sounded pretty good.

I was going to comment that in reading through comments it seemed the european people seemed a bit less traumatized by the video than those in the states. I watch a lot of British shows, maybe that's why it didn't grate me as much lol.
Oh yeah, this thing is going to be a total sell-out. I'm not even kidding. The terrible video won't stop it.
Aren't the chase lights on the track sides going the wrong direction in the video? Like its backing up in reverse? Should be moving forward with the head down and cannon blinking.
I think all the Franchi art here is incredible. Bravo Man! I think the Layout looks super fun, great Job Nord Man. I think the price of the Deluxe is on par, good job Dave. But, my god...The video assets...I know they are going for campy, but I dunno if I can stand watching a lot of that. Please guys release a long gameplay video asap so we can see what its like during gameplay

maybe it's going backwards and shooting the cannon to help build up speed. It's like rocket jumping in Quake
