Think I saw something a bit like that on Skinamax 30 years ago.
You guys realize that acting is intentional right? It fits with what they are going for. I know some people won't get it.
But still need more gameplay....that trailer didn't really sell me on it.
I love campy stuff, but from a sales/marketing perspective to acquire new funds, that was poor, imo.
I was so ready to order on the spot. This did not work for me at all : (
Hopefully better game play video will turn that around.
HAHAHAHAHAHA.....this is the first pinball machine I actually laughed along with. The intentionally-cheeseball acting is so ridiculous, I immedaitely want to play this with friends while drinking. It's so self-aware it's a riot.
I'd humbly suggest an option to turn some sort of film grain/artifacting effect and turn up the saturation to make the FMV look older/era-approriate
But again, I like the vibe they're going for. The FMV is just maybe a bit too crisp/HD if that makes sense.
New award at next year’s Twippys for Cringiest pinball machine. AP will run away with it. Holy shit was that stupid.
This is what happens when not funny people get full reign to try being funny.
Unlike pulp fiction, I believe this one may have benefited by not having an LCD, if that is the acting style that will be displayed.
I love the fact its super campy, so much so it has people in peril hahaha! That means they're leaning in hard which is quirky and fun. What I couldn't gather from the video and all that acting was... is that actual in game set footage or just the actors in front of a studio green screen to ONLY shoot the launch promo?
Release game footage may be totally different but the fact the acting is super hammed and campy AF might just make the game memorable and amazing in my opinion.
It's intentional bad acting. Whatever that's fine. I just want to see more of the actual playfield features, particularly the center tank toy and what it does. The 3-ball lock looks good at least.

Yeah, that's how I took it. It's exactly what they were going for. I find it interesting that so many people expected something else....
Woof. Would only consider a classic edition and at probably 8k+ for that (if they ever make it), all parts better be firing on all cylinders, including the video.
I like cheese, but... save for the leading lady, that was almost unwatchable.
If we knew LCD would lead to porn acting in pinball, we would have stuck with DMD.
This is worse than Sega CD FMV...those at least had some real actors sometimes. RIP Dana Plato.
Looking forward to reading "How I TANKED A Pinball Company" - The David Fix Memoir

I was going to say the exact same thing.. that needs some serious analog wow and flutter / distortion / desaturation to both the audio and video.
Bravo! what a laugh....what ironic trash....FOMO again.....glad I did not spend my money on GF...this is the one to go for

It's footage from the game. I think they used the wrong aesthetic for it though..maybe grainier ,or b&w.

I think in fact when you pause and think about it, the super cheese is endearing and may actually set the game apart. If the acting was dialed and took itself serious then it would be a harder sell and less authentic. Camped out, low grade line reading like a 50s sci-fi TV show is clearly what they were angling for.
Yeah... I was as jazzed as it gets, but I don't think I could take those live action clips for more than 15 seconds.
Abort mission... I repeat: abort mission.
I get what they are going for...and it's nice to see something different. Hopefully the humor lands with the whole package together.
They clearly have some multicamera gameplay footage...hopefully they release a recorded gameplay stream ASAP...
I had heard they were going to use video assets in a way that had never been done in pinball before, now I know what they meant! It's definitely different and that's what everyone keeps saying they want, right?
I'll wait until I see more before passing any judgement.
Wish they would have done this similar to a CGC remake in terms of screen….I know that live action acting is supposed to be cheesy, but it’s not working for me.

I dunno. I think they missed 1950s TV show by a mile and ended up with the Sega CD game acting as mentioned above. Like, go back and play Night Trap - you might have remembered it as being pretty cool, but...
I want to like it. I really do.. :/

There's an art to camp 50's acting. There's a fine line between funny/camp & Tommy Wisseau's The Room.
That being said, it's going to be on a small LCD, not projected on a movie screen...it might work. This trailer leaned WAAAAAAY too hard on the footage...it should have shown more gameplay with a small window showing choreographed LCD footage.

Oh, god, yeah. If they're going to make this work - and I get what they're going for - their video has to either go in the old TV show direction with cathode tube scan lines and edge warp or film serial with lots of grain and lack of focus "fuzz" as well as a sound filter to make the voices and music more tinny. Because this. . .this ain't working as-is. Sad to see, because the playfield and cab art is stellar.
BUY BUY BUY!!!!
I'm in. Awesome cheesiness.
Those from the 90's and VHS era know what greatness is.
I just hope there's a raunchie mode.
Quoted from Sako-TRG:Actresses look familiar............. let me check my porn collection
Man. I was thinking the exact same!
I’ll also add that the representation is miles ahead of where every other game is. I’m VERY happy for that. This just leaves me wondering if the game is actually fun and the software interesting. I’m all for cheese. Just don’t show me only cheese.
Yeah, I can take the video...I get what they are going for...but we need more gameplay. What I saw in the trailer was lacking. No sounds when the pops went off. Whats the deal with the magnet in front of the tank? Etc etc.
Underproduced video. No problem with the performances for this kind of theme, but you have to punch up the camp in post with filters and better music. The gear and expertise to do that is readily available these days. A bit of a miss in that regard, hopefully this will be a sum greater than parts situation.
