Oh my! God save us!

Yes please write a letter to all these pinball manufactures and tell them to please stop this madness! Hopefully we look back in a few years from now and say-remember those years of pinball where all the manufacturers added annoying bright rainbow lights to their games to appeal to newbies. -Oh yeah I remember those days and so does Pepperidge Farms

#602 1 year ago

Hopefully layout is stellar-it will make or break it for me. Backglass looks awesome

Still scratching my head on the whole tank concept? I asked my wife-so would you keep the head down when not playing it? Would you have to move it further away from wall while up? I like different stuff but waiting to see what the deal is on this one.

#603 1 year ago

No doubt with Nordman in charge, the game will be a BLAST to play.

Hey, the man put that 'Big Boobies' game on a crate, which was actually a cool idea.

I wonder what crazy ideas Python Angelo would be coming up with today... and who would have the balls to hire him?

#604 1 year ago
Quoted from underlord:

My question: what’s with the flap Dennis lifted up? Looks attached! WHY? Citizens want to know these and other intriguing answers on this weeks exciting episode!

It's a good sized flap that can stick straight out with the head raised. That would shade both the translite and the top portion of the playfield from any over head lighting for some kind of special game play or effect? ...I don't know.

Or perhaps it's a shelf for major awards.

Press the start button and the tank treads turn so the game moves away from the wall, providing space for the head to be raised with the turret behind it and the pop bumper cannon sticking up to become the topper.

If you like Killer Klowns from Outer Space
If you like the movie The Stuff (1985)
You will likely want this game.

Pornhub pinball machine?

Pornhub pinball machine?

It would recontextualize a lot of jokes about modern pinball requiring lube

I did have a thought if there would be an automatic switch to raise and lower? I aint raising and lowering anything myself-jeesh

Now if the tank treads move-then the kids get ran over and-you know all the lawyers get involved-haha

In my day, games had incandescent bulbs ... AND WE LIKED IT!

I am starting to go backwards for some reason?

Incadescants are magical in a way. I think Stern did a good job with Jurassic Park and 007-nice and subtle with warm glowing bulbs-not cool white

I searched for an original Elvis that had not been molested-again nice and subtle

GTF garners bright LEDS for the theme. Hoping the rainbow side lights are only programmed to change solid colors during modes and are not like other ones I have seen.

Their latest podcast is currently live. They're covering all the new games being released. Once finished - check out the GTF portion (first game talked about) and you'll see the pics.

How did it look?

Playfield pic wasn't the best (somewhat blurry), but looks cool from what I saw. I dig this theme though and have high hopes for GTF!

Tank treads are lit up (along with set up game) on full game pic.

I give A.P. major props for revealing pinball for what it is, a big, expensive TOY. Big boy toys for all of us to pound our chest, say look at what I got, and play the shit out out of it. Just like a little kid with his new Tonka Toy in a sandbox.

Unfortunately it’s just pics that’s been floating around where the game is in attract mode and the LEDs just wash over the playfield making it tough to see the art and layout.

Still ... beats the backbox folded down pics I had only seen up until then.

Quoted from apessino:

I try to imagine 10 year old me walking into an arcade and seeing this machine sitting there, what my reaction would have been. The odd thing is... I think I will have the same reaction now. I hope that 50+ years of ups, downs, failures, victories, tragedy, love, pain and everything else in between have not been enough to kill that wide-eyed child that was drawn to pinball precisely because pinball is only about fun, magic and mechanical theater.
I want to buy this, and I want to go out with the team that conceived, approved, designed and built it, buy them a drink and hang out for a while. They seem like my kind of people.

Everyone I have talked to that have seen the tease trailer are thinking the same thing. So glad they went this direction I can't say how much I love the idea and want to get one just to have one...Scooby is on order but may have to save up for this... The fact that everyone is intrigued without even showing the playfield shows they have hit the heart of a lot of us 50 somethings...

Do we really think the back box stays down until you coin up and then it lifts to play a game?!?

The extra weight and expense of the electric motors would be huge. The wear and tear of the wires running to the back box wouldn’t be ideal.

Also not being able to see the play field fully before coining up would really hurt coin drop.

People getting hands pinched when the back box comes back down.

I doubt they have any plans of this happening it’s just show and an added expense i can’t wrap my head around

I love goofy stuff like this. Hopefully it checks all the boxes (or most) with the two biggest being "cant I afford it, and can I actually BUY it".

#629 1 year ago

Interesting "Lucky" lanes/switches by the flippers to get a bonus

#630 1 year ago

Quite interested to see what the game actually is all unfolded. What a wild looking promo.

So we are using tanks to steal ice cream, or steal back ice cream from aliens.... this is definitely the pin you want to buy if you want to get weird looks, on every level.

Says "Save the ice cream" on the backglass. Also "intergalactic icr cream social light right in the center of the playfield. Ice cream seems to be a major theme

Damn... Thats looking cool ! I love this so far !

#639 1 year ago

Crazy wireforms on the right side but can't see a ramp to access them? Looks packed my gosh.

#640 1 year ago

Looks interesting, but I really thought pinball companies had learned by now that they need to make the best first impression possible by having a good reveal themselves instead of spy style photos coming out.

I'm looking forward to seeing the game and how it will play, and these pics maybe don't do it justice, but seems like a pretty standard layout with top inlanes, a center bash toy, and a three pops behind it. Crossing returns maybe/hopefully with a diverter.

But would be so much better to have an AP reveal as a first impression instead of spy shots to try to analyze.

#642 1 year ago

What is going on to the left of the right orbit shot ? Looks like a long slot in the playfield for a swinging target ?

Interesting Nordman loves non standard flipper locations. These look extra wide but have posts to nudge with and the lucky lanes too. Playfield certainly has tons of ramps and shots everywhere. On a whole it looks great! The artwork is cool, I see three pop bumpers, lights above the speakers and they have gone to a standard backglass instead of having the display embedded in the backglass. All good there.

I'm not a big fan of the stadium style lighting. Stern still has everyone beat with the sleek Expression lights embedded in the cabinet...too bad Stern is still sitting on their thumbs and I don't have Expression lights in my Rush premium after a year though. Also, I'm not a big fan of the skinny stand up targets. The ones in the middle are already out of alignment. I see that as possibly the first mod to install the 3D printed supports or some other prop to keep them straight.

Edit: Looks like a pop up ball saver between the flippers?

Looks like there is a subway and kicker on the right side very similar to Demolition Man

This leak is really what AP needs right now. They’ve overlooked the entire landscape of releases this month and we’re about to buried in irrelevance. This helps them even though they may be spiteful about that.

There appears to be a popup post "ATOMIC SHIELD" between the flippers. See the "DEFENSE" insert directly above. Maybe activated by the 2nd button on the right side of the cabinet ?

Bet you are correct. "Atomic Shield" on the round part below the Defense insert

Actually could be a magnet to catch and throw the ball back into play. That would be cool.

#649 1 year ago

love the art. playfield looks promising. They should get on it and release some better pics as the cat's out of the bag now.

I'm a little worried about the layout being fun to shoot. Looks like really only 3 shots that keep any flow going and that is the left orbit, left ramp, and right shot into a VUK. To the left of the tank it is into the pops and to the right looks like a moving standup. The shots are huge and wide and even have a bottom between the flippers pop up like Harley Davidson.

Will this be fun to shoot with only those 3 main shots? Hitting stand ups with no flow might not be the most fun. Interesting other manufacturers going away from pops completely and keeping the flow going and Nordman went completely the opposite where most of the ball time is tied up in randomness of ball travel. I am rooting for AP but I think this is going to be challenging to be a fun shooter.
