Quoted from iceman44:

Satire? That isn't funny. What a schmuck!

Agree
Pinball is flooded with tons of these patreon pumping content “celebrities” to enjoy!

#6052 1 year ago
Quoted from Tommy-dog:

What an ass. I use to watch his videos. I guess I will now have more free time to play pinball.

why stop watching his videos over a disagreement about one? One should never 100% agree with any content provider. All he did was depict his actual experience and then edited and added the snarky lines. He wasn’t ginning up a false experience

Indirect experience that is, but one must admit GTF did not perform stellar in the stream. But hiccups occur in the Stern reveal streams as well and I‘m no wussy regarding the tank targets. Since they‘re curved and multiple you can hit the outer ones with way less risk then BKSoR.

Yeah wow. So he took a stream that wasn't his with technical difficulties (that the AP guys were obviously stressed and pissed off about) and then edited it to look like it was his? Kinda like adding insult to injury... Not my kind of comedy.

#6055 1 year ago

Hopefully he squashed all the issues. If so, shouldn’t he be able to create a second stream with no faults and good flow? Come on Cary, show us what you got. Again.

Unlike GTF, BKSOR offered an interesting and dynamic center target. A spinning mace, a ramp entrance, a detailed and painted sculpt, a raising and lowering shield with a mode start shot and a smack talking center shot. The risk / reward was way more fun and interesting and unique, but still got old quick. GTF simply has 5 small targets. The wiggly tank and raising bland robot add nothing to attempting that shot and the curve of the target bank is probably not enough that even the outer targets can airball back at you. Farm animals and aliens has already been done so if your going down that path you had better bring something thats next level. I know folks dont want to hear it and as a Houdini and Oktoberfest owner I dislike saying it. Comments that this game plays like a bally williams game is not a compliment at a 9k price tag. Outside of the artwork this game screams freshman effort yet it was put out by folks with a ton of experience under their belt and they are going to get their just desserts.

Don’t forget the led lights in his mask to mimic talking and that handsome feather on his helm. The BK toy is among the best engineered Stern toys of recent years.

And not a single person who demands "innovation" or "mechs" was satisfied with it, or even bothered to take note of it.

Love BKSOR, especially the pro.

Yeah, the pro is the better game. Prem is ramp free with 3 gimpy shots on the upper pf. Definitely more prems and LEs available on the secondary market than pros.

Agreed. I think BKSoR is maybe the most under appreciated pin that was released in the last handful of years.

As a lover of BK, and BK2K, I've tried over and over to like BKSoR...nope...just don't like it.

Whether you love BKSOR or hate it - that is a total lesson in how to make a playfield toy. I had an LE for a while, and the Black Knight sculpt was 100% amazing.

As BKSoR has far more in it then meets the eye (with both flail and shield not only diverters but also targets and backkickers) you‘re forgetting about a lit of stuff thats in GTF.

And regarding BKSoR as one guy that had a pro for 2 years and now a premium; they‘re different but none is better. Since the Pro slowly got old I appreciate the additional modes and shots and the added ability of a more tactical approach the second playfield offers.

Yeah show us again Cary!

Since I’ve actually played it, what he said was just more embellishment of the ridiculous drama Queen narrative. Look who keeps popping in here to view.

He and Kaneda have to create stupidity and drama so people like you will watch it. It comes natural to those guys.

Btw, the tank is fun. Maybe not for the tight ass tourney players, but it is.

#6066 1 year ago

Also played a Flow Fighters pro when I was there.

If you like hitting ramps and combos all day with nothing else in it then that’s your pin

Greatest value in all of pinball, ever

Def would go premium/LE there

It was a funny video. Huge shout out to American Pinball for the content.

Is this tread about Black Knight or the new American Pinball Galactic Tank Force?

Let’s not forget STH

Felt like you had a little more control over GTF tank shot.

Ever since I put the new flippers in STH the target bank on upside down is a big no go!

“Oh no, the tank shot is in my face”. What a ……

Im not forgetting about anything. Im just comparing the center tank center target to the black knight center target.

#6074 1 year ago

I thought this thread was about the IMPORTANT things, like whether I list a game in my Pinside collection when I make the deposit or receive the game. Stay FOCUSED.

#6075 1 year ago
Quoted from Pinstein:

And added all the rest BK has to offer compared to seemingly nothing on the opponents side (wich is not quite true with diverter ramp, ball lock, moving target…).

Actually I like that the tank moves, since I always wished for the BK to do so when his Target gets hit.

Is their someway to print this thread out and save it for probably two reasons.
1. Have a laugh when needed.
2. Watch a pinside thread derail so far and watch the colossal wreak it crashed into.

isn't that like..most pinside threads where people are waiting and waiting? There's no shortage of them.

Interesting conversation with Christopher Franchi "retiring" from podcasting on The Poor Man's Pinball Podcast. He addressed/apologized/defended his "your wives aren't Christie Brinkley" lash out. I respect him willing to address it and decide it's healthier to take a step back and focus on the work. I think it's normal to want to defend your baby that you and colleagues worked hard on. Impossible not to! Hot emotions outweigh logic, and he stepped in his own shit.

The issue I had was him telling people to stop complaining because no pinball machine will be perfect and the 3D printing looks fine if you don't stick your face up close.

For these prices, you're up your own ass if you don't think it's okay for people to expect great looking and great working games out of the box for $9000-$17500. That applies to ALL games (TNA CE and Scooby being other recent issue examples). At $6000, I'd cut you tons of slack that you're doing your best 3D printing in your basement and things being built wrong will get resolved. But after 5+ years in business and almost $10,000, it's all fair game.

#6088 1 year ago

One iPod one Pinball stream showed off a lot of neat features and Joe’s passion to make a great game with great code. But the narrative on social medial always gravitates to the haters. Watched Joel and Jared play Bond 60th yesterday, drain a million times, get super frustrated and praise how great the game is LOL. Can’t wait for my GTF!

I don't know who Christie Brinkley is and at this point am too afraid to ask.

She's who you wished you married instead of settling for your own partner

#6091 1 year ago

Bo Derek was a confirmed 10. Every red, blooded male and female over 15 yo wanted her. Brinkley’s good too, but she’s maybe only a 9.5. Bottom line, compare your wife to Bo Derek instead of Christie Brinkley.
