    Salut,

    I think the only drawback is that the clock of the pin is not working.
    Date and time settings will be wrong (on machines, where the battery is also running the clock).

    From what I know (at least for WPC and later) the battery also powers the real time clock of the pinball. This means the pinball will keep the time settings (this is hold by the NVRAM), but it will not advance without being powered.
