I am trying to buy Moose Drool for my son for Christmas. It isnt availability here nor will they ship it here, which I don’t understand at all. I am willing to pay double the price of a case or two of the beer plus shipping if anyone is interested in going through the trouble of shipping it to me.

Moose Drool is a good brew! Have you had any New Glarus? Good sh!t (EVERY Wisco guy on here will back that up) - I'll ship you a pallet *of either! PM me..

They won’t ship to Texas. For some reason this beer is t available in the south or eastern part of the U.S. anymore. We used to buy it all the time.

If you ship it mark it yeast samples, that’s how brewers ship beer to each other all the time with no issues.

We found it at the TX Renaissance Festival about 4 years ago. We drank a lot of it then it wasn't available anymore. I tried to order it and they wont ship it here.

I’ll take some Heady Topper if someone in Vermont is in the holiday spirit. Will pay double too

that's crazy eh. The provinces are like that up here though. Really stupid laws that are way too old. Maybe talk to one of your local restaurants or liquor depots/stores. They may be able to help get a steady supply for you.
    Where there's a beer, there's a way. lol

Every time I go back home I drink spotted cow. I paid $30 for a 12 pack at the Madison airport to bring back. OUCH. I live in SD where there are over 200 micro brews and I still rank spotted cow as one of the tops.

Drinking beer together is one of those things my son and I do together and we have tried a lot of different ones. We both like brown and red ales and Moose Drool seems to be the one we always go back to. I actually allowed him to drink beer on a vacation in the Bahamas. He had such a taste for it I figured let him get used to it and it be old hat to him so when he got a car he wouldnt go hog wild and get drunk and get in his truck. I had to go pick him up a few times but ill take that over picking him up off the street. My bet paid off in the long run though, he is at A&M and he does drink but says getting drunk is too much work and certainly not worth the trouble. AAAAnd he makes a 4.0 so I aint complaining.

Ill have to try it. Hopefully I can find that here. IPAs seem to be very popular here.

Anyone ever try Dragons Milk? Its tough and 12% alcohol. We make gumbo with it and its awesome.

    #22 4 years ago

Dragon's Milk is delicious... try the bourbon barrel aged version!

    Ziegenbock

Its brewed and sold pretty much only in texas.

I would love to get a case of it here in Nevada!

For now it's my beer of choice when I go to TPF.

Beer distribution rules are crazy nuts. I remember when Dogfishhead reduced their distribution regions down because of their capacity and bang-for-the-buck on each states licensing. As they continued to grow, they were able to resume shipping, but it came down to distribution rules and costs.

Moose Drool is a fantastic brown ale. Very happy I can get it regularly around here...

Spotted cow is a very light ale. Great when you're mowing the lawn!

Unfortunately for most of the country, New Glarus beers are only available in WI.

Yes, good stuff. Seems a shame to use it in a gumbo though (unless you're saying you DRINK it while MAKING gumbo)...

Spotted Cow on tap on a hot summer day? Yes please!

Same with Finnegan's out of Minnesota. Have to make bootleg runs for both several times a year!

No, instead of boiling the chicken we season it and fry it in some oil. When its done we pour out most of the oil and pour the beer over it. It makes, almost, a gravy and we pour that into the gumbo along with the chicken, sausage, and crawfish tails. Yummy.

I think it was regular Coors.
Silver Bullet ain't bad for me. Inused to drink Coors in the car heavy days...and Michel for that matter. S

    Me too!

But its billed as "by Texans, for texans."

Oddly Nevada isnt near enough to catch any overflow.

    #35 4 years ago

Ok. If you want me to do it give me the address. I’ll buy the beer and ship and you can send me a check for shipping and beer. I hate PayPal.

    Does it come in cans?

I don't work there, just live in WI and drink too much.. - Not sure if I have had any brews from SD? I did plenty of wine tours when I was there tho..

Dragon's Milk is my favorite stout, so good! I just picked up a 4 pack today and after reading your post picked up 2 six packs of Moose Drool as well. Looking forward to trying it. Thanks! Glad you found someone to ship you some.

Not a drinker, but Alaska has a bunch of local beers available from small breweries. Some of the cans look really cool with the art and all. I imagine the isolated market makes it fairly easy to compete with out too many smaller breweries.

    #44 4 years ago

Is this thread officially turning into a local beer swap thread? If so, count me in.

    #45 4 years ago

My wife just went down to get some beer so I took a pic of some of the strange cans available. Thought they were interesting.

Thee beer swap sounds like a good idea

Am I the only one that likes Mexico style beers. They make a beer in the Bahamas that is great but it is only available there.
