Cool offer! May help to add the location to the title of the thread.

I sent a message to one of the guys in SLO with a link to this thread. If he can't help, he might know someone who can.

    Quoted from Ed_in_Texas:

We gave Lou Ferrigno a Gottlieb “The Incredible Hulk” at TPF2018. We shipped it to him in California. I’m looking for someone that would go help set it up for Lou. Not a paying gig but might make for a cool story and picture. Any follow up tech trips would be on Lou’s dime. Game is in San Luis Obispo, CA. PM me if interested or know someone credible.
    Thanks!

Is this the rare system 80 hulk?

Here's my Lou Ferrigno true story. A few years ago my plane lands in LA. I spot lou waiting for his luggage right next to me. I pull out a Hulk comic book I happen to have with me and timidly approach him. I shake his hand and ask if he'll sign my comic book. His response "I get paid for that"
so helping lou in any way shape or form, not unless he paid me

True...but the guy is estimated to be worth between $6-12 million. Which is why I can figure out why he spends so much time "signing for dollars"?

I hate hearing stuff like that. That’s too bad, and I imagine it was pretty awkward.

Good luck to fireball2 and I hope you have a better experience.

I'ma bringing a Hulk metal poster thing for him to sign. If he says, "I get paid for that," mebbe I'll say, "I get paid for setting up pinball machines. And for driving out to your house in my big ass van."

    #14 5 years ago

When you meet him, speak loudly and look right at him. He appreciates that as he's very hard of hearing.

If he gives you any flack just kick his ass....tell him if he's not careful, you will stuff the poster where the sun don't shine!...he's an old man after all.....

He has a hearing loss. He stated once it could be as high as 80%.

    #18 5 years ago

Yes, that is true. It helps if he can read your lips.

I go about 130, soaking wet... so yeah, that would be option.
Back in the day, my high school wrestling coach was runner up Mr. California (in the '70s) and used to work out with Arnold and those guys. When coach was pumped for competition, he couldn't touch his head because his arms were too big.

What? You've never heard of that?

It's when your stomach hangs farther than your dickeydo!

I was a Hulk tv show fan back in the day, and I always knew Lou was hearing impaired. But I had forgotten until you guys reminded me. Thanks! I'll remember to use my seventh grade teacher voice.

Had a similar experience at a comic con here is Dallas a few years ago. My son was 8 at the time and was a total dick to him. I just thought we caught him on a bad day, at least that is what I told my son at the time. I found out later that he is like that often. Sad to hear others have had issues as well. At least Sam Jones (Flash) stuck around after hours a couple years ago at TPF to drink and BS with everyone. Lou, not so much.

This Saturday at 1:00. He's a little high maintenance: I got two phone calls, a voice mail, and a text within about 5 minutes of Ed giving him my number, and then like 11 texts to set up the deal.

    Should be fun.

Awww, maybe he just wants a friend?! Just think of all of the awesome memories you will have with him! He's pushed everyone else away, you are his last shot at happiness.

Can't wait to hear all about it! He didn't seem like he was having fun at TPF. Every time my Wife and I walked past his booth we kind of laughed at how miserable he looked. A buddy I know paid like $75 bucks to get a picture with him. While they were taking the picture Lou looks down on him and says "so you like pinball, huh?" Geez

    #39 5 years ago

Ed told him that he'd hafta take a pic with whoever did it, so I think I'm gold. So it looks like that's worth 75 dollah, huh?

When you go set it up, tell him you've met before at the airport, then pull out an old Hulk comic.

He's a major jerk. That is how I'll always remember him. Evidently time has not changed him a bit. I hope he was miserable at Texas. He looked that way to me as well. I'm disappointed that anyone is going to help him out.

My chance meeting with him goes way back, probably 30 years. He was in town to attend a body building event as a celebrity (maybe even as a judge, I don't recall). My friends and I were out to the movies. He was there in the theater. After the movie, half a dozen kids, aged from around 6 to 13 went up to greet him and wanted their movie tickets and popcorn boxes signed. In a classless move the exemplifies his jerkiness he refused and did not even stop to talk or interact with them in any way. He was their hero and he simply trampled all over their star struck hopes. He displayed a terrible attitude, he was not gracious nor kind. It takes so little to be a positive influence. Not to spend a couple of minutes with kids who idolize you is simply despicable.

I don't remember what the movie was but i'll always remember his being a completely contemptible prick to the kids.

Wow, in Pumping Iron he seemed like the nice guy getting walked all over and shamed by Ahnuld, I kind of felt bad for him.

You guys that had a bad experience (sounds like everyone), should watch the movie for a laugh at him...

He doesn't deserve that Incredible Hulk machine. Trying to think of a title that might be more appropriate... hhmm...

Your too nice for helping him since he seems to be such a jackwad. You should just text him a youtube how to video or something and say help your self. That said thread is favorited, can't wait for the story and pics!
