Quoted from Yelobird:

Got to play the SE at the GAP open house with the JJP team and it was a blast. Shoots real fast and still has much of the character of the other models. Do wish is as my only question that it had the RGB light rails as for me that Really sets the lighting effect. I honestly think for the price nobody will be dissatisfied with the SE. less flair but it still plays great.

Compare the light show between the two. Is the SE light show even close to the LE?

#103 3 years ago

I’ve heard most of the time it feeds the upper playfield and I believe always feeds the upper pf during a song.

#105 3 years ago

Sounds like the lock shot is just like the guillotine shot on Alice Cooper. Satisfying indeed.

Quoted from jandrea95:

I dont enjoy pinball because it makes me feel grown up. I enjoy it because it gives me the feeling I had playing video games as a kid. Only difference is I never drank beer while playing mario bros.

One of my favorite drinking games is playing smash bros. So fun.

#202 3 years ago

I can see the SE being just as fun. The upper playfield shots and action didn’t wow me, but the two shots are satisfying because they are difficult to make.

I had two overhead lights blasted on the game last night so the light show was pretty muted. Still was amazing. So I think was the SE loses in light show won’t be a big deal. I hope I’m right, as the SE is the only game in my price range.

#204 3 years ago

Not sure how making song modes into MBs and getting power chords will work on the SE though. I guess we will find soon enough.

#207 3 years ago
Quoted from kermit24:

There is NO Power Chord jackpot on the SE. JJP has stated that.

Makes sense. Well now that I know the rules, that’s a bummer. Haha

#209 3 years ago

Yeah it’s not a dream theme at all, so SE or nothing for me. Way too much money for the LE.

So if I get it I’ll live without that stuff. But a player like me loves stuff like power chord JPs.

#214 3 years ago

Yeah I assume the left ramp locks balls virtually, give bass guitar credit, and lights. Sounds like the SE will be way easier. Haha

#216 3 years ago
Quoted from kermit24:

Also you would collect patches much faster. Spelling GNR (left inlane) collects patches. Patch Sets (sets of like patches) have huge benefits.

Good call. Love those triple stacked inlanes. Genius and allows them to have 3 times the uses. Haha

Heads up: Friday 6pm cst GNR Standard Stream on Flip N Out Pinball for anyone interested

Twitch search flipnoutpinball

#257 3 years ago
Quoted from riggy469:

Only time I saw it happen during the stream is when they started Throw The Lights or did the add a ball during a song. The standard doesn’t have the powerchord rules in it so I don’t think it uses virtual locks, but I could be wrong.

It does. Just doesn’t do them for power chord.

How is the pyro one started since there is no upper playfield? Just a number of left ramps to start?

#263 3 years ago
Quoted from Eskaybee:

I thought pyro was started spelling pyro with the target behind the slash disc for both versions?

Them whatever one is started from the upper playfield target. Haha

#266 3 years ago

I think I’ll be more than happy with a SE thankfully.

AIQ pro and this are at the top of my list.

#295 3 years ago
Quoted from jandrea95:

The SE has a full light show. Having the game and seeing it (not on stream) I can say even if you could swap out the rails as a mod I wouldn’t even bother. Not after seeing it in person.

Thanks for that Jason. I’m pretty sure you’re the only person in this thread that has played both. Haha

Quoted from wesman:

These streams need to cap off at 30-60 minutes.

Haha. I will never understand this. Just turn it off after 30 mins.

#330 3 years ago
Quoted from CaptainRedEye:

We are going to stream the SE again tonight at 6:00 pm (CDT) on the FlipNOut Pinball Twitch channel. Come back for a second look.

I streamed the game at full volume on location and nothing happened during the stream, but portions of it were muted on the VOD. YMMV though I guess.

#365 3 years ago
Quoted from Eskaybee:

But man, is that game flat as is.

You’re nuts.

#367 3 years ago

GNR SE and AIQ pro are at the tippy top of my list right now. I can definitely see AIQ staying way longer.

I decided to take my game around right after the rain without my friends help because I wanted to leave right when he got to my house.

WCS weighs a metric ton and my dolly tipped over and I dove underneath the game to cushion the fall. Not smart. Somehow I was able to get it back upright with it laying on top of me. Haha.

My whole body hurt that weekend we were at the Cleveland pinball show.

#385 3 years ago
Quoted from wesman:

Is this the one featured in the infamous photo of it laying in the grass?

I doubt there’s a picture of it. Not sure how there would be. Was I underneath it? I was able to get it off me while simultaneously standing it back upright. I don’t think anyone saw it but me and God. Haha
