I just got a Terminator 2 running the Rottendog MPU. It has a remote battery pack but I HATE batteries and refuse to use them when NVRAM is available so cheaply.

Has anyone socketed the chip on the Rottendog board? Is this difficult like the Williams original MPU was or more middle of the road? I do have a Hakko desoldering gun. My solder skills are average - I have capped maybe 10 monitors and replaced some transistors and resistors here and there.

I can post a photo later but when I looked last night it was not socketed.

This is stock image - I believe ram is the last one... no socket. Am I wrong? I hope I’m wrong because I’d prefer a drop in solution lol.

I appreciate the offer. I’m curious how hard this one is to do. I heard the original WPC was the worst to socket. If this one isn’t that bad I can probably do it.
