Yea you can use a NVRAM on the board. I installed 2 for friends over 2 years ago and I seem to recall the old RAM was already in a socket.
Can you post a picture of the board?

If it is like the stock photo, I can socket it for you if you need the help. I must had been lucky on the boards that I traveled across town to do for them.
Quoted from kvan99:Yes, I just checked mine..
Yes, yours is in a socket.Rottendog WPC-S NVRAM (resized).jpg
Quoted from brainmegaphone:I appreciate the offer. I’m curious how hard this one is to do. I heard the original WPC was the worst to socket. If this one isn’t that bad I can probably do it.
No harder to do than any other that is not socketed. Personally, I always cut the old RAM out by clipping the pins at the body of the old RAM and then heat each pin and remove them.
I suggest taking a picture of the board once the old RAM is removed so that you can zoom in on the pads and traces to be sure you didn't damage anything. And if you did, it will easy to spot at least and save a lot of troubleshooting time beeping out the traces.
Quoted from kvan99:Right on PM!...I'll take care of it this week.
Thank Rottendog for that. 6264 NVRAM is what you'll need.
