It's space, may as well use it.

At home I have under the pin - two guitar cases, some old Daily News for some reason, a bunch of cords, a bike helmet, and a fog machine. Among other crap. Oh yeah there's an air mattress.

In the shop every pin has a ton of shit under it. Pinball parts, bins, boards, tools, a shop vac, booze, etc. The heavy stuff I have on rolling platforms so I can move them around when I need to.

If I had the ability to have more space and not keep stuff underneath, sure I'd do it, not that it matters to me really. Life is just a game of tetris I don't mind using all available space.
