It sure would be nice to not have anything under my pins, but that space is just too valuable and too inviting not to use in my tiny cramped house. Got me thinking...

Does anyone NOT have anything under their pins? Really? I don't believe you. Let's see some pics for proof!

(and props to you for having the space to be able to do that).

Note: Under cabinet lighting is not a violation. If I had nothing under my pins, I'd get some cool under cabinet lighting for sure.

55 games and nothing except for a Roomba.

I don't have enough room not to put stuff under them unfortunately.

    #6 3 months ago

Like to have everything clean underneath.

I have a full wood shop under my games in the garage table saw, sliding miter saw, router table, combination belt/disc sander, and more - I put them on harbor freight dollies to make it easy to pull out any tool I need. Wish I had room for a permanent wood shop, but that system allows me to have both games a woodworking tools, so, works for me!

I was doing so good till covid. Arcade/garage now filled with supplies under them now. House games empty, except for dog bed under Addams Family.

Same. I was clean until I wanted more games and needed space. Pretty happy with the tradeoff ha.

Props! Did you request a bunch of carpet samples?

    #11 3 months ago

All my pins have subs under them.

    #12 3 months ago

I don't. If you start putting stuff underneath it quickly gets out of control from what I've seen. I'd just rather keep it clear. Although, I get the point of it being wasted space. It's very tempting for sure.

We have a table tennis table in the room with the pins and after we’re done playing we have to collect all the balls from under the games with butterfly nets. If there was stuff under the games it would be quite a pain.

I work at an architectural firm. The interiors department got carpet samples in and would just throw them away. Well, not after I talked to them about saving the 3'x3' tiles for me.

Must be nice to not live in a 1 bedroom apartment...

I hate having stuff under pins. I make an exception for subwoofers.

    Just subs

Given my tiny 1,200 sq/ft house, I have kid's toys under one and a kid's table under the others. Could be worse.

    #19 3 months ago

Just UV lights and a Sub under the music pins.

I really wish I had the space to not have stuff under my pins. I even keep my kayak under some of my pins in the winter. Space is a luxury. I've thought about moving to a bigger house, but I really like my place. My options are a big new mortgage, or crap under my pins. I picked crap under the games.

    #22 3 months ago

Nothing under my games except the dog who follows me downstairs.

    #23 3 months ago

Next house, nothing. _This_ house: what-a-chairs, a pop-up tent and a folding ladder.

And the remnants of treats and bones he brought under there to chew and you don't realize them until a week or two later.

A couple of us have been discussing a solution to dress up the area under games....would anyone be interested in PinCurtains? We would use a small rod with neo magnets on each end to hang a set of curtains from the inside of each leg. Long tapered curtains for the sides, and small curtains for the front......we could do about any material, and for those with undercab lighting, we would use a transparent material to allow the light to glow through. Hides all of the cords, and anything stored under the pins.....small slits on the side to allow user to still reach under cab switches....etc. If you have multiple games in a row.....you only need each end and a bunch of fronts. Putting together a set for the home arcade to see how it will best work.......

Empty guitar cases, guitars, and boxes of golf balls. Wish there was nothing but space is needed.

    #29 3 months ago

Nothing under mine. When I was in a smaller house I thought about building storage lockers on rollers that could go under and look reasonably neat but no need anymore.

    #30 3 months ago

you were at our arcade a few years ago joe..we never put anything ever under our games...people would talk...

    #31 3 months ago

Subs under three games, otherwise tidiest spot in my home is under games lol

Sweet! Is that real or faux brick for walls? In the process of remodeling and was looking at faux brick but can't seem to decide on what.
    I dig yours though!

Back on track here. Can't stand stuff under pins as I always try to avoid. If its anything than its only temporary storage.

    #37 3 months ago

Nothing underneath. I’m going to have to rearrange the whole room if I want to add another game.

It's space, may as well use it.

At home I have under the pin - two guitar cases, some old Daily News for some reason, a bunch of cords, a bike helmet, and a fog machine. Among other crap. Oh yeah there's an air mattress.

In the shop every pin has a ton of shit under it. Pinball parts, bins, boards, tools, a shop vac, booze, etc. The heavy stuff I have on rolling platforms so I can move them around when I need to.

If I had the ability to have more space and not keep stuff underneath, sure I'd do it, not that it matters to me really. Life is just a game of tetris I don't mind using all available space.

Nothing underneath my pins except a few spider webs.

Yeah I should probably build some shelves down there.

Still this isn't anywhere near as ridiculous as undercab lighting!

For some reason I can’t stand stuff under my pins. I have an air hockey table with lots of kids toys under it a pop a shot basketball with kids stuff under it and I keep the stools for the kids to stand on under the Skee ball. None of that bothers me but my 4 pins have nothing but carpet and power cords under them. There is a post somewhere where a guy has Home Depot containers with wheels that fit perfectly under pins and I thought that looked fine

I had my pinball room nicely cleaned up, with nothing under any of the pins. My wife and I have lived in this house ever since it was built 27 years ago and we never throw anything out, so every other room (including the crawlspace) is crammed full of stuff.

Then my Mom died at age 91 and I had to clean out and then sell her house. Despite renting a large dumpster (and filling it to the brim), donating some furniture to Amvets, paying College Hunks Hauling Junk to take away the furniture Amvets didn't want, renting a U-Haul box truck and making two trips to Goodwill, and dragging things out to the curb on garbage pickup day for weeks; there was still a lot of personal stuff left. My sister and her husband (who live near Denver) contracted to have a PODS container dropped off over a weekend and I filled it with the things they wanted to keep. That left a lot of things for me to bring back to my house and no where to put them all - except in the aisle in my pinball room and tucked underneath the games. And it's all still there.

Concur! Beautiful even from those angles! How do you keep the cords all hidden? I was going to post some of mine, nothing but cords, but not as "clean looking" ..wrap them up and stuff behind the games? Custom length cords/power outlets?

    #45 3 months ago

I'm somewhere between Levi and Dirk....ok, maybe just Dirk

    #46 3 months ago

Nothing under the pins, unless the dogs leave a toy. I zip tie the cords to the legs also. Makes it easier for me to keep the floor clean.

    #47 3 months ago

Dust and dog hair because Tuesday and Friday are vacuuming days down here.

If I needed the space, I guess I would put stuff under them, but I don't like the cluttered look. In the workshop area, sure, I'll keep boxes of parts and my pin lifter under those games.

The receptacles are up high, so that keeps most of the cords off the ground. Some games you can push the extra cord inside. The others I wrap up and push behind the cabinet. The cords stay nicely behind the legs as there's room because of the baseboard. If I don't keep the cords up and out of the way, the Roomba gets tangled and stuck.

Nothing under mine. I have to move mine around and take them in and out of the house too much.

    #50 3 months ago

Just empty space. One might find some small dust bunnies, and some where on the floor is a ball that fell out of game, still have not found it.
