I got a call last week from a guy with a Fish Tales. He's looking for a new plastic box (for lack of a better word) as his broke during transport. So I asked him why not leave the plastic topper off. Obviously the plastic box is there to protect the fish topper from vandalism, but in your own gameroom I guess most people will behave. I figure it may even look better. The FT topper has some shelves decal in the front but they can easily be attached to just a small plastic piece standing in fronmt. No need for the whole plastic thing. Anyone leave the plastic box off?

The fish is surprisingly loud with the plastic off. That is the only issue I can think of. You can pad things a little to dampen the sound.

The Fish Tales topper is insanely loud. It would probably be unbearable with no cover.

Why doesn't he just buy another plastic cover? They're readily available:

Its unbearable with a cover, couldnt imagine it without one...mine topper solenoid harness has been unplugged for 6 years. Couldn't picture one without the cover....they are relatively inexpensive.
