Deciding on a rig but will likely go Trak Racer TR80. I'm a Mac guy but my son has a PC we are going to use for this setup. I'm extremely excited to get it all set up.

You are headed in the right direction. I’m a New guy also but it seems sim racing is a pc deal. The advice I wish I would have gotten in the beginning is this, go slow. I know it sounds counterintuitive. But trust me go slow around turns in the beginning, you will absolutely add time. If you consider Iracing let me know. I will meet you there.
