The toughest part will be distressing the game. Going to go slow, use light sand paper, steel wool, and test some small areas first.

just use some water in a spray bottle. spray it on the cabinet. The wood should grain on it's own and crack into the paint. lightly scuff some areas with sandpaper to add rub off.
Quoted from GAP:Worked on it a little tonight. Need to to some more touch ups. Tighten up some lines and put it the red circle in the sun

Thanks for sharing the updated progress with us, Gap!
I'll be going to Disney in June. I will definitely be taking more pictures of it. Also been one of my dreams to build that cabinet.
This is currently my favorite thread on pinside. Great work!
Quoted from swampfire:I'd love to do something like this with POTC.
I'm surprised Disney never did.

A little more progress today, hoping to have it done by Expo. Sending playfield off to Bob Gould to get cleared. De-greased all the guts and swapped them over to the custom Indiana jones.
Quoted from GAP:Games is up and running. Gavin Dialing it in.
Looking good Mike! And the coin door is just like the one at Disney, giving it the "real feel" that the machine has been on location for a fair amount of time.

Quoted from GAP:A few more pics. Hope to Finish the game up this weekend. I may put in a color dmd also. What do think yes or no on color dmd.
Absolutely yes. The colordmd is great. And fantastic work on this! I came across this thread and always wanted to do this to mine as well. You guys really hit it out of the park.
Quoted from GAP:Just dropped in clearcoated playfield
Mike, that playfield looks really nice. You should probably give the fellow Pinsider who restored it credit in this thread.
Ok pretty much done with the Disney Indiana Jones I reproduced. I May do a little tweaking, might paint the hinges to match the cabinet. Going to put color dmd in tomorrow. Thanks to Rich Figarelli for doing the wood work and Bob Gould clearing the playfield.
Looks great, but how are you supposed to slide stuff under it for storage (eg golf clubs, home brewing equipment, etc) with that bamboo running between the legs?
It's surprising that the guy who did the original Disney one hasn't popped up here on pinside. Anyone know anything about that?
I have seen the machine Great American Pinball (GAP) has and it looks great. I imagine Mike has linked the URL for the eBay auction somewhere, but if not here it is:

Beautiful work Mike.
Did you make the wooden lockdown bar a little more user friendly than the one at Disney? It sticks out pretty far over the flipper buttons.
Quoted from TenaciousT:Are the sharp corners on the lock down bar hard on your hands as you work the flippers?
They look like they would be. That's right where your palm rests.

Wear gloves with the fingers cut off.
Quoted from GAP:I took it off the market, because we did a custom Scared Stiff and hoping to get my black and white TZ done and have them all at expo this year.
Thanks for the update, see you at expo!
Dont think the Disneyland is out on the floor anymore. Was a rumor it was sold?
When yours came on ebay my buddy tried to convence me it was the Disney one. He hadn't seen your thread yet.
