Not on location, obviously, but I've just been leaving the lockdown bar on my ST Pro unlocked so I don't have to futz with the latches.

Seems to be just as stable as when locked, unless you pick it up...

Thought about it but then figured id run into miss hits with the action button.

Annnnd i almost never need to take the glass off

The latches keep it snug, with them undone you will probably get damage on the cab around the bar from nudging.

When I’m play testing yeah, but I left them and when you get a little grab or nudgy with the game the lockdown bar will move and lift :/

Not a good idea at all not to mention it only take 5 seconds to latch them.

Are the latches really that much of a nuisance? How often are you having to take the lockdown bar off anyways? There must be even a slight bit of movement with it unlatched which I would think has the potential to produce some minor wear. I never keep mine unlatched.

I didn’t like the new latches at first but they grew on me. Sometimes I’m guilt if not clamoring them. They do feel fairly secure unlatched.

I often don't bother for casual play

If you have any kind of finish on you machine like painted or powdercoated rails like a lot of LEs have it’s probably not a good idea. The lock bar can slide around a little bit and chip the finish if it’s not secure.

I leave my latches off on my Munsters. Just as snug.

they are kind of satisfying to latch closed for some reason. clunk

may be a good reason to keep them latched like holding onto the PF to keep it from shaking around as much busting solder joints on the PF mounted node boards.... just speculation

Plus its so easy to latch I can do it with my eyes closed. Why not just do it?

I'm a very animated player and I really get into it, so I latch 'em. If I didn't nudge, slap save, and *ahem* "accidentally" slide my pins around, I could see it not mattering, but that's not me.

I prefer the *real* lockdown receiver and lockdown bar myself. Stern # 500-6882-02-00 and 500-6881-00.

Well, it was just as snug until it wasn't, I almost flipped the thing off during a particularly aggressive nudge, and I don't want to be worrying about that happening, so since the dialing in phase is more or less over, I'm back to properly latching the lockdown bar.
