I did a search and the last thread was from 3 years ago. Instead of resurrecting an old thread I thought I'd start something new.

Has anyone ever cosplayed? Been to a convention in costume? Think it's cool or stupid?

Last year my wife dressed up as Daenerys from Game of Thrones for Halloween and she really wanted me to go as Jon snow. So this year I got a decent costume to wear. We usually go out for Halloween to a bar that has a costume contest. But I think next year I might go to Toronto comic con dressed up in costume for something fun to do.

I have wig coming and since I won't be able to bring a sword into a bar I also have a foam HBO replica coming.

Very nice. I have always wanted to dress up and go to comic con myself. Dressing in costume is cool for sure.

Quoted from Buzz:

Dressing in costume is cool for sure.

Are you sure about that?

Heck yeah. Let your freak flag fly.

You remind me more of the guy from night's watch that stabbed Jon Snow.

Ya. My one friend also thought I looked like Alliser Thorne, and my other friend said that I looked like Sam Tarly, although I don't think I'm quite that fat. IMG_2811 (resized).JPGIMG_2811 (resized).JPGIMG_2810 (resized).JPGIMG_2810 (resized).JPG

I have a couple friends who love costumes. I live in Los Angeles so I imagine I'm going to meet some more cosplayers.

The first time I went to comicon was around 91. There was exactly 1 person in costume.

That has changed huh.

It was a girl dressed like a cave girl.

Now my 1buddy is building a space marine outfit. From Starcraft. And him and his son do it. He has learned an astounding set of skills in the last few years and it is a hobby he can share with his son. Who is around 21.

I went to bats day in costume at Disney as an old vampire. Then I also did steampunk to the time traveler day in some ren fair.

I was thinking of Adam west batman this year with my girl Veronica dressed in the cat woman outfit.

Frosty Bear
Got into some fermented fruit for this shot I believe.

*looks like a grizzly bear at night when I come sneaking up to the bonfire. Hehe

That's one scary-a$$ looking Chucky-Cheese.

I was thinking of dressing up like Earnest P. Worrell or Red Green this year. Similar costumes that most people may not be able to identify.

I always struggle to find a costume where I can keep my beard. Billy Mitchell didn't go over so well.

Now, Luke Skywalker finally has a beard. I can't pass that up

I'm going to try being Captain Spaulding this year for Halloween because I never dress up, but have an awesome big beard and not much hair up top these days.

I think it's cool to dress up if you want to! My kids are still picking what they want to be for Halloween, so I'll do something that goes with one of their costumes.

I say ignore your beard and be what you wAnt. You could be Adam west batman. With a beard.

Or you could just get all medieval and be a wildling.

Just got tickets to Emerald City Con and I was thinking of trying some light cosplay. Not into dressing up in 50 pounds of gear and strolling the halls with sword, etc.

But I might go as Commander Straker from one of my fav's, the 1960's British show "UFO," that is if I can get my wife to dress up as a moonbase girl (purple wig anyone?)
