Wow, your from Lansford. I grew up in that town. Met my wife of 30 years there and my father still lives there.
Quoted from electricsquirrel:NPR was playing some Todd Rundgren this morning on my way into work.
Sounded damn good.
So, I think this will be in queue for tonight's festivities!
Just spun that the other night!
Quoted from Agent57:Time for a quick spin before heading out in a bit. Any other Crimheads in here? I'm betting there are...
Over platz's watching Tim Perry jam. All I can say is wow! F'n wow!
Quoted from Jason43:Nice marantz. Used to have that exact receiver. Still regret selling it.
Thanks, I've tried many setups and keep coming back to my 2230. It just has that sound that I can't replace.
Yup, great table you have. I need to find a dust cover and hinges for mine. Rescued it from CL ad for vinyl. They got it in a house clean out. Got it for $20. It turned on but none of the automatics worked. It was neglected for years and all the grease was dry and the mechs were all locked up. Works fantastic now.
Well, woke up to 7 inches of snow this morning. Said F’ it, called off work. Made some coffee and put on some Al Stewart, before I go out and plow myself and my elderly neighbor out.
Saw Al at the Mauch Chunk Opera House in Jim Thorpe a few months back. Talented guy.
Oh yeah Cardinal, then you must know John Troutman. He was my supervisor at RCA. I worked with most of those engineers as I was an engineering technician there.
Although I agree with you about the slot order, I have to disagree with the "one hit wonder" comment. UKJ was far from a one hit wonder band. Two of their albums have gone double platinum and their album Menace to Sobriety, is in my opinion, their best album, that really never got recognized in the US.
Always been a fan and still listen to their albums regularly.
Quoted from joe2012:Vintage Realistic receivers are still fairly cheap. Also check out Audiokarma.org lots of info and reviews.
Here is one I picked up on Letgo a year ago for $65. Sounds incredible!
IMG_1809 (resized).JPGQuoted from Chisox:I bought a Nagaoka M110 to fill in for my ClearAudio Virtuoso when the stylus went bye bye. I haven’t felt the need to get a re-tip or a new cartridge and it’s been over a year. Pretty solid for $125.
Been using this cart for about a year also. Pleasantly surprised how well it sounds.
IMG_2888 (resized).JPGQuoted from Fulltilt:Mark Knopfler just kicks ass. Every time. [quoted image]
That's such a great album, I play it all the time.
Saw Mark live, last year in Virginia. Such a talented musician.
Thanks E! It sounds fantastic.
Quoted from gonzo73:Realistic STA-2080 , outstanding. The last of the all analogue 80's recievers.
The last of the V-Eights Max !
Love mine.[quoted image]
Thanks! It’s my favorite receiver. I have it paired with a set or Nova 7B speakers. Also have a pair of 8B’s.
J.
