Time for some PFunk.
Quoted from Madmax541:
I am new to owning a jukebox that plays 45's its a Seeburg VL200.
I have some 45 record that when selected, continue to go round and round with needle on record but never actually play music.
Other records it plays fine.
Record hunting with my daughter today. Her new albums cost me a bundle. My two finds totaled $4.
Quoted from pacmanretro:
Got the garage juke on goin through my latest 2 boxes of 45s. Almost through the first one (as you can see)...few good 80s. Lots of 60s/70s...I was shocked to find a couple mid 90s!! Not too many minty, but lots of B condition juke fun so far
Nice score hope you find a couple of treasures. Love my jukeboxes.
Recent find. Took a flyer on the album having really only known the Rehab song. Turns out to be a really good listen.
Starting my day with Teddy P. Good score with the Gap Band yesterday at Half Price Books.
Had one of my best record store hauls in some time. Condition was only fair but the price was $4 and $5 each.
Spent my morning listening to Tower of Power. Great stuff. Thanks to this thread I picked up my first Marshall Tucker Band, love the cover art. Nice way to start the early evening.
A to Z for me. As for the pain of selling, the first house was small at the time it made perfect sense to sell a few. Most have been replaced. Finally, I picked up the Hounds on rectore day and loving it. Oddly, the Hounds where not released on CD or in digital. At least that's what I read on the internet.
Great score! Has to be enough there to make it worth the purchase. Please share what treasures you find.
Sometime back pinsider Impzilla posted a pic of his setup that featured a record bin. Cost was a little much but after some research I found plans to build one using a single sheet of plywood. I got a little geeky and added edging and purchased plastic dividers from Amazon. All told project came in under $100. I love being able to flip through the collection and see the full album cover. Up next i'm thinking under shelf led lighting.
Plans found here:
Headed out to the Boston area on vacation, looking forward to finding some used vinyl.
Ouch, in one night I learned need to mod my Audio Technica and pick up some Four Tops, love this thread.
Caught a Kenny Rogers collection at Goodwill bought like 8 albums. The hits are huge family sing alongs.
Well not so rocking, picked this up for $7 sounds awful, only one channel. Had to break other Bark at the Moon. I'm 0 for 1 on picture LPs.
Time for one of my all time favorites.
Sorry I missed out on the giveaway.
Finally, to the Pinsider with the father in-law at home, be strong and play pinball.
We'll I was the only one at my place enjoying Dino. Blasting the friends with a favorite.
Starting with Waylon tonight. Not a smoker but I smile every time I pull this one out.
Classic new arrival. Also, for anyone with the audio-technica lp120 finally pull the digital preamp out sounds even better.
Quoted from dirkdiggler:
Do any of you have any rare, valuable albums? I was in a local music store today and he had $300 on a metallica bootleg 85 concert. I realize that's beyond crazy high retail but got me thinking about values of records.
Is there a pricecharting type site to value albums besides discogs
C.W. McCall Convoy 1st album form my Dad, Priceless.
OK, back to the question. I was told my original Metallica Ride the Lighting is worth something, never took the time to look it up.
That bootleg sounds interesting. Always love seeing odd records like that. Recently, the record store had some cool bootleg Springsteen stuff. The cost was to much for me.
Huge Elvis fan, picked this 8 album set up for $10 this week. Starting tonight with the Las Vegas years.
Quoted from Goronic:
I like Van Halen with both though I prefer Roth. They are practically two different bands.
I agree like two different bands. I also like both versions.
Quoted from BudManPinFan:
Ugh! I love Van Halen and I love Sammy Hagar but I really hate the stuff they did together.
On a side note, I never noticed that the guy on the cover looks like he’s holding a giant pinball.
Funny I was thinking pinball also.
Ended up being the first time picker of a new / used arrival box, Rush Priest, Def Leppard, Alice, Scorpions, BOC, Sabbath, Areosmith and Rainbow. Brought 16 albums for $65. Including a favorite TV show sound track.
Quoted from Fulltilt:
I love the classic Marantz receives but boy, they sure are getting pricey!
I had a "Natural Sound" Yamaha in the late 70s. I really liked it also and you still get them at a good price.
This one on eBay is not bad at $299 shipped. And includes returns if you're not happy.
Recently I have been wondering how an older receiver would sound vs my Onkyo tx-nr3007, found a local Yamaha CR-820 for $165. Worth picking up? Seems like I could resell and break even if I hate it.
Quoted from Fulltilt:
How could you go wrong if that Yamaha is working well and $165!
I don't know about comparison. I've had a couple Onkyo receivers and really liked them. I still use a NR838 in one of my TV setups.
$150 in the house. Love the original head phone plug. Hoping to hook it up tomorrow.
Finally up and going with the Yamaha CR-850. Starting Friday out with a favorite and loving the sound.
Great shopping at Walmart, I think for the next few days. Sinatra at the Sands, is one of his best, IMO.
Back from a 2 week vacation, turns out pinball is hard to find in Hawaii. I did have a nice record haul. Kicking of Funky Friday with back to back Rick James.
Loving the Brave Belt cover. Don't know thAt one. Spinning another favorite, Santana's greatest hits.
Quoted from manitouguy:
Brave belt was Randy Bachman after he left the Guess Who and just before he created Bachman Turner overdrive
Apparently blacklisted in the industry when he left the guess who only a few guys would play with him – brave belt only did two albums and their third album was changed to become Bachman-Turner Overdrive‘s first
Loving the Yamaha CR-820 the group turned me on to. Booker T never sounded better.
Is it wrong when home alone to play pinball, drink and listen to Space Truckin multiple times?
Ha, looking forward to the game Sunday. In the mean time Uncle Jam wants me to funk with him.
Anyone else get screwed by pledgemusic? I pledge a $100 to Queensryche, last year, yesterday email arrives I'm thinking album has been shipped. Instead email recommends I call the credit card company and try for charge back. After a few Internet searches seems allot of bands sending out the same message. I was thinking $100 stunk but the band posted they are out 70k.
Quoted from Fulltilt:
No, didn’t know about them. Interesting read and to see they are still going.
I'm sure they are looking for a new investor. Hope they find it as the site was pretty creative for connecting bands with their fans.
