My wife picked that Elton John album out last month when we were record shopping. Never been a big fan but I was impressed and we had a blast listening to it.
Nice Iggy Pop find! Think my local used spot is getting played out... they had a roached copy of The Idiot for 25 bucks. Yikes, it's available new on Amazon for 15.
Here's my latest Amazon splurge. This was my first introduction to Ween back in college and always remained one of my favorites.

One of my receivers from the 80s has died. Do any of you have budget suggestions for replacement? Was hoping to find a decent replacement for $500 or less.
Power just turned off while I was using it and it won't power back on. I did the easy checking to see if power fuse had blown but that was not it. Definitely lived a long and useful life. At this point I am thinking may as well update.
Quoted from emkay:I'm really digging this album! Caught the tour once already, might try to see them again this summer when they're on the road with the Flaming Lips.
Agree, I'd listened about 20 times before I decided on the vinyl because it kept up with each listen.
Doing this one tonight, a very good summer album and has a crazy amount of good songs.
We have several of the mini libraries in our neighborhood, I think 3 within casual walking distance. LP exchange would be insanely cool!
Quoted from Chisox:If anyone is looking for some good new shit these guys are fantastic. New psychedelic soul music. Plus I’m a sucker for colored vinyl.
Thanks for the recommendation.
I missed the first pressing boat on that black pumas by 1 day. Was pissed and got 2nd pressing direct from label on black & red vinyl. Does not look nearly as cool but still glad to have it nonetheless. I've been trying to buy at least 1 new vinyl per week.
Quoted from Chisox:Here’s a cool new band. I think they’re from NC. Kinda sound like Velvet Underground/Television/Zombies/early Stones. Nice pressing too.[quoted image]
Thanks for another good recommendation.
I just picked up that same David Bowie album from Amazon last week! This week I preordered QOTSA Songs for the Deaf, double vinyl.
I recently joined VMP to get some of the cool records that I've seen posted here. I am a bit surprised by the slow shipping and slow support response time though. Ordered a sale Slits album about a month ago and it still hasn't shipped. I jumped onto the Run DMC release but that has not shipped either. Can any of you other members please tell me if this is always normal, or normal around the holidays?
No, they had for sale return of the giant slits. But now it's not showing up on their sale page. I have Cut though, it's really good. I bought this one (too late now) as a Christmas present for someone else. Curious to know about other experiences with Vinyl Me Please service.
Quoted from Fulltilt:Tomorrow is technically Saturday.
Tonight is almost Saturday.[quoted image][quoted image]
Amazing soundtrack, I stilll watch the movie at least once per year. One of my guilty pleasures.
I remember buying a vhs copy of a revco concert at wax trax and Chris Connelly was working the register, sold it to me.
I've been regularly buying vinyl for about the past year... much less now with covid at the local record stores, but still through Amazon and VMP. I may have to chill a bit on Amazon though, I've had some rough experiences lately. One album it took them 3 times to get it to my door, first time was the wrong record, second time it was lost in transit, third time it was finally delivered. Yesterday I'm sitting out on the porch and to my amazement the Amazon delivery guy walks up with my record, shipping label on the shrink wrap with no box. I've never heard of anyone delivering a record without cardboard packaging.
So after all that fuss Amazon delivered my replacement record in a bubble mailer and it arrived more trashed than the first record. I am done with them for music.
I had to look it up, but then I was like- yeah it sounds vaguely familiar and I have seen that movie once.
Nice collection you have. I'll be looking forward to the next Sabbath/Dio reissues so I can add a couple more.
Quoted from emkay:I know they’re milking it. I don’t care.
[quoted image]
This band has milked it so hard I'm sick of seeing email from them in my inbox. It's honestly over the top at this point.
Finally! Can buy one that I actually need an upgrade on. Sabotage is one of my favorites.
Not sure what happened with Mob Rules / Heaven and Hell reissues, I could not find any at my local stores and online the price shot way up. It would be cool to see these reissued as single LP.
I figured 1000 was low considering what's been posted so far. Respect the taste of your collection. I've heard about collecting multiples and glad I don't have that urge. When I upgrade I give duplicates to friends who don't have a copy.
Thats a good Wattstax concert album. What is the record next to Tobruk... is that Tycho?
Nice, Vision Quest, Supertramp, looks like a fun haul.
Quoted from Rampton:More specifically, their first 6 7" EPs. Fantastic! Thanks for posting this. Have put in my pre-order. This is a must-have!

Thanks for the heads up. Ordered mine as well.
This week looking forward to black Sabbath deluxe sabotage.
Anyone else notice... no matter how many drinks you've had, you get real fucking sober when time comes to put the needle on the next record?
Quoted from jazzmaster:[quoted image][quoted image]
Nice to see all the recommendations on this thread. I love that Joe Strummer album!
I did not have a copy of this yet on vinyl, so was excited to pick up another super deluxe. Not my favorite of Black Sabbath, but it's another great all around package. I've grown to appreciate this and Never Say Die a bit more. Sort of hoping we eventually get a repress of Born Again. I could use a better copy of Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, if they ever do a super deluxe of that I'd jump on it as well.

Awesome movie, reminds me to watch again this year. Still remember the double feature in theater along with Weird Science.
Quoted from gonzo73:C'mon you freaks let's see some vinyl, I feel like I'm the only one posting.
Let's see some vinyl.
Love seeing your posts here. Wish I could teleport to your place for a week, smoke weed, listen to music, eat burritos, play pinball and listen to music.
We got into a bit of this on the weekend. Pre-ordered the Otis Redding set from Rhino, will be looking forward to that in December.
Those older cleaning brushes are nice. Mine got lost in the shuffle somewhere and the current designs are not as good.
I picked these up at my local record store and had a blast listening last night. Such a quality Charles Bradley release, both music and package went above and beyond.
IMG_20220620_172832161 (resized).jpgQuoted from jpd632:That Charles Bradley album is 10/10. I remember when it came out. “The world” is such an awesome opening track.
That track is a jam, I turn it way up every time. A thick slab of quiet vinyl, heavy tip on jacket, download code with extra songs, for what I consider bargain price on a single record... yeah this may have been one of my best pickups so far this year. It rivals a VMP release for half the price.
Quoted from vid1900:Their 4th album on RCA is the best

I'll never know because it looks kinda like child porn? That's a hard pass for me. Go ahead and berate me for being unmanly or whatever. I've got younger children around this age so it hits a nerve.
