I don't know about the mono box, but I don't like the mastering on the stereo box set. Seems too flat or something. I think the Capitol box sets, and the original CD's I bought way back when sound so much better.

Looks like it might not be the best for records - pushing down on the top, is that putting more pressure on the stylus resting in the groove?

I can't see how this would be stable at 78 RPM, but I'm curious.
