Quoted from Coyote:

Have this in my juke, and love it. Have always liked this song.

I am 67. I saw him live, then. Still got the lp. He would come out on stage on fire, in a special suit. Hard rocking show in 68.

Quoted from Coyote:

No shit, seriously? Damn.
I first heard this song when I was around 11 years old, back in the mid-80's My dad had picked up a Juke and when he filled it with 45's, he put this one in. I remember playing it. The opening shoting I did NOT like at that age, but when when the song started, I loved it. I didn't really get the lyrics at the time, and was even more confused when my mom got angry at my dad for having that in there. I figured it was because of the 'bad word'.
Of course, THEN my mom found out that my dad ALSO put Clarance Carter's "Strokin'" in the juke. Yeah, I remember that didn't go over well either. Heh.
Both are in my juke now.

Yes, seriously. He was the backup for Steppenwolf, Magic Carpet Ride show. Good stuff.

I gotta say, your Dad had good taste in music. Clarence Carter was really good. He did a song called Patches, around 1970, classic, poor son story.

Bowie's death hit me hard. I bought Blackstar and listened to it once.
I'm not sure if I'm ready to hear it again. Maybe.....I just don't know.
It will be waiting for me when I'm ready.

I agree with you totally. I saw him in a small venue here in the early 70’s. Ziggy Stardust show. I still remember his outfit and make up. When he started with Starman, with Mick Ronson, pure magic. We lost Mick early to liver cancer, too.

I thought you might want to see the original lip, 1968, bought by myself then. Heavy psychedelic. The God of Hellfire, this had Fire on it. I have a large vinyl collection, love it.

Quoted from Fulltilt:

Too many losses.... another great one.
This ranks with some of my most treasured albums. Wayback memories.

My first concert, 1968, I was 14, was Iron Butterfly, this album was current. I will always remember it, of course. The backup band was called Blues Image (Ride, Captain Ride on your mystery ship) . If anyone wants to see their next band, it was Captain Beyond. 1972-1974, this was half Iron Butterfly, half early Deep Purple, and one more from Johnny Winters. Quite a group.

I bought this a long time ago.3 sided, clear, 1967 show, excellent recording. I am old and fortunate enough to have seen him in 1970, Band of Gypsys show. I was 16. In those days everyone sat down and enjoyed a show. He was the master of a guitar.

I bought a Technics turntable 40 years ago. Never a problem, other than a new cartridge every now and then.

Still on the Dire Straits kick….

I used to watch them play weekly at Armadillo World Headquarters, here in Austin,in the early 80’s. They had 1 album, not popular, yet. Great show, always a favorite.

Correction, late 70’s.
