I love to play live albums in a Seeburg HSC3 unit. These units were very expensive in1967 $1295 you could buy a car for that. It plays both sides of 50 albums and is selected like a jukebox with a rotary dial like the old pay phones. It plays records vertical with a pickering cartridge. It has 10 inch woofer,6 inch mid ,3 inch tweeter. These units sound great in the 310lb cabinet.I restored this one 15 years ago and play it every week

Beautiful work on that Resto. There's a guy over in Bozeman who restores consoles. Never seen him do a changer, though.

#4553 10 months ago

Thanks it is very similar to a jukebox.Seeburg is big in the jukebox world and wanted to break into the home Audio world.Problem was the expense and they needed to be maintained just like a jukebox very complex mech and tormat unit.I have only seen a couple of working models .

Quoted from Chisox:

Me every time I play the Police: “Why the funk don’t I put the Police on more often?” They wrote amazing songs but Andy Summers and Stewart Copeland just made their songs so unique.[quoted image]

They have to be one of the best bands, evar. The B-Sides to their singles are definitely something to check for as well.

#4555 10 months ago

Wow that Seeburg is awesome looking. Have you thought of posting a video of it changing and playing? I could watch that all day...

Meant to snap a pic while it was still turning but it all happened so fast. How long has this paper been in my mouth?

What are they like? I like the description on the sticker and the cool cover.

Heavy psych space rock/doom... reminds me somewhat of Naxatras.

Radiohead makes me sleepy.

I'm spinning my Fugazi EPs tonight.

Haha I only made it through 4 songs and switched it up. Maybe later.

This is an all timer for me. Ween went on the road with a bunch of old Nashville studio hired guns following their 12 Country Greats album for a brief tour and the result was glorious.

That ween LP is great. Disappeared fast, too.

Live at Stubbs is also a killer set.

Lucky! I was a day late and a dollar short when that record went up for sale. I got the cd ages ago, one of my favorites of theirs!

#4571 10 months ago

Finally received my shipment of The Police.
Zenyatta Mondatta,. Ghost in the Machine, and Synchronicity. Not a bad eBay score. 19 bucks for all three.

Now its time to spin.

Just grabbed some more badass colored vinyl. Sounds like they recorded it in a grain silo but it looks cool haha. Great album.

Guess who? This sumbitch is playing the United Center in April. That’s crazy and and I’m so happy for him. 25,000 people and it sold out in a heartbeat.

How much are those damn tickets? Guess I'll have to rob a bank.

I'm just bummed he's not playing anywhere near me.

Yes just got that as well it’s a great record. Big fan of vinyl me please. Their jazz selections have really bolstered my collection.

They were $80 I think? Got in on the pre-sale and got 100 level dead center. I prefer floor seats as I hate sitting at concerts so I might flip them for some GA tickets.

Oh Herbie!
Right next to Marilyn Manson in the album stack.

One of the all time creepiest album covers. Duane Allman should have insisted Herbie wear a shirt.

Along with Duck Dunn. Imagine!
That would have been great!

Never listened to Cage. Though I know people like them a lot.

Spinning a late 70s Japanese Reissue of Sonny Clark's Cool Struttin' to start off the evening.

Are any of you going to check out the Record Store Day black friday stuff? I looked at the list, and am a bit underwhelmed. The one thing I'd be interested in is in such low numbers that it is highly unlikely my record store will have it.

What release? I am always the first guy on line at my local. Can grab you a copy if you want me to.

Very excited that More Oar: A Tribute to Skip Spence is finally getting a Vinyl Release!

#4598 10 months ago

The release is Raymond Scott - The Jingle Workshop:Midcentury Musical Miniatures 1951-1965. It would be awesome if you could snag it. It's limited to 800 worldwide. If you do I'll definitely grab it from you.

There are some other things on there that are interesting, but it's all stuff I already have, do I really need another copy of Billion Dollar Babies?

It's a live version...so there's that. But no, probably not.

If I see that one I will grab it and let you know. It's definitely not on my list, so I'd be glad to nab you a copy if it is there.

Oh, see I didn't realize that. Yeah, if you see that pick it up, like I say I doubt my local joint will have it.
