I am the heaven
I am the water
Ich bin der Dreck unter deinen Walzen (I am the dirt beneath your rollers)
(Oh no, whip it on me, honey!)
Ich bin dein geheimer Schmutz (I am your secret smut)
Und verlorenes Metallgeld (And lost metal money)
(Metallgeld)
Ich bin deine Ritze (I am your cracks)
Ich bin deine Ritze und Schlitze (I am your cracks & crannies)
I am the clouds
I am embroidered
Ich bin der Autor aller Felgen (I am the author of all tucks)
Und Damast Paspeln (And damask piping)
Ich bin der Chrome Dinette (I am The Chrome Dinette)
Ich bin der Chrome Dinette (I am The Chrome Dinette)
Ich bin Eier aller Arten (I am eggs of all persuasions)
Ich bin alle Tage und Nachte (I am all days and nights)
Ich bin alle Tage und Nachte (I am all days and nights)
Ich bin hier (I am here)
Und du bist mein Sofa (And you are my sofa)
Ich bin hier (I am here)
Und du bist mein Sofa (And you are my sofa)
Ich bin hier (I am here)
Und du bist mein Sofa (And you are my sofa)
Yeah, my Sofa
Yeah-ha-hey

Cool. I’ll give it a listen!

Found this on you tube. It combines two of the greatest things from that decade.

Epic...
Made me reach for the Road Warrior soundtrack buts never been opened - I'll go play some Motorhead instead.
Quoted from Chisox:That turntable is so beautiful. Feel free to include it in every album shot.
Thank you! I got it on Ebay and it was in desperate need of work. It reeked of cigarette smoke, the wooden Grado tonearm was broken in half, every single part had to be cleaned and a few replaced. I decided not to get it painted because I like the contrast of the old knicks and dings on the cover and platter contrasted with the new arm and plinth. It is my baby and has made the biggest impact by far of any stereo component I have ever purchased. The before picture is how it looked when it arrived at my door followed by a picture of the internals and then a picture from when I picked it up. 6 months of rehab at Deja Vu Audio in Vienna, VA got her looking the way she does now.

I'm really digging this album! Caught the tour once already, might try to see them again this summer when they're on the road with the Flaming Lips.
Quoted from Chisox:Let’s get this party started! Who’s ready for some mid-tempo dad-rock? I am![quoted image]
Thanks to the kindness of a fellow pinsider, I'm now listening to and growing very fond of some Wilco.
Quoted from Waderade812:This is usually a winter day album. But sounding great tonight. [quoted image]
I had never heard of this band until last week when the Frightened Rabbit tribute album dropped. Gonna have to check it out.
Thanks for the heads up. I enjoy the slow tempo of Daughter. Another group called London Grammer is in the same vein.

Agree, I'd listened about 20 times before I decided on the vinyl because it kept up with each listen.
Doing this one tonight, a very good summer album and has a crazy amount of good songs.
Quoted from snyper2099:I played these 3 tonight: Some great stuff. Connexion is odd French garage rock from Canada.[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]
Is that Ellington at Newport 56 ?
It's got so many different covers ..
If so, that's one of my favorites

Probably. I believe that is a 57 mono LP.
Quoted from Fulltilt:Incredible collection!
I am lucky to be in a city / area that has many great record stores – and to relieve stress from the day job I make routine rounds or random drop ins
It is particularly fun to explore music that I don’t know about – and play it on some of my equipment that is from the correct era or time period - To hear it as it would’ve sounded back in the day
I have actually just finished restoring a 1918 phonograph – it amazes me that a hand crank and spring motor and steel needle can actually produce such a nice sound – that is leading me into enjoying classic music on 78 shellac discs
These two jazz records are actually the first two I bought - I picked them up together to play on my 1957 admiral record player - i’ve always been daunted by the jazz genre as it is so diverse - but I must say that I really really enjoy these two a lot !

By the way, this album is under $10 on Amazon today if anyone is looking to pick up a copy.
