What is the top, must have rock vinyl of the 70s that every collection should have? Looking for 1 - not a list - with one exception being Dark Side of the Moon.

Mine would be Boston's debut album.

Changed my everything.

I don't think I could pick a #1, there are so many.
But...........this is one that I always come back to.

So............speaking of classic albums from the seventies, my daughter got an early pressing of Animals, that sounds fantastic.
We decided to listen to it on Saturday night.
The dogs were being assholes and barked through half of side one.

I suppose that this is a common problem?

Disagree. I find that album mundane to tolerable at it's best moments.

This is the album you are thinking of...

I highly recommend the original pressing of it.

I heard this album more than any other back in the 70's.

Great choice - I'm a huge Zevon fan. My favorite album of his is the self-titled, though.

Not sure if its 70's required but hard to argue since it's the number one seller of all time.

Tough to pick just one but this has arguably the greatest rock song of all time on it so it’s my choice.

Dick Dale!

We lose another great.

When that album came out, my mom bought it.
My dad hated it, so she gave it to me.
I played it so much, that it was destroyed.
I still have it, but it is no longer playable!

Haha I guess I had that coming from the Cubs mural a couple pages back. Well played.

Quoted from scampcamp:

Found this Stryper album at a flea market/antique shop in Destin Florida while on vacation. They are a 80’s Christian rock group & are very good. I think they had a couple of videos on MTV.

Yeah, they have a new album out. It's too edgy for Wally World though...

We left the house for 3 hours & forgot to take the stylus off the record. Does it harm the needle/stylus to have it just going on & on at the end of the record? Thanks.

Nope. I have a “friend” who likes to drink bourbon and listen to records. Once in a while he’ll wake up and the record will be still be spinning in the lead -out groove. Stylus is fine every time. That guy needs to get his act together.

Saw a great metal show Tuesday with Zeal and Ardor, Baroness and Deafheaven and picked up Z&A's double vinyl gatefold album. This stuff is great, it's a mix of old Southern slave songs and death metal, has a good Southern Gothic feel to it.

That's a nice set of shelves. Did you build it or buy it?

How has it done with supporting the weight of the vinyl? Any noticeable sag in the shelves?

Thanks. No, I bought it somewhere long ago.
It's actually five shelves. I couldn't get low enough to get the last one. (:
The wood shelves would have had problems holding the vinyl without bending. I put a piece of 2x6 in the middle between each shelf.
